Hey Y'all

New guy here. Just got my '08 350 Crew Cab, 2 WD, Long Bed, DW, 430RE, Lariat. It's new to me that is. Found it on an RV lot with 9k miles on it. Was traded in for one of those 'superstar' RV/busses. I guess the guys at the lot made so much money on the coach they were able to lie to the guy about how much they were paying for the truck ( or he was nuts) cause it was sold to me at a price that made me feel like I stole it. Been driving it a week and all is good so far. Checked out its history every way possible and its clean clean clean.

GEEEEE I like this truck. I picked it to tow 16k lbs of fifth wheel and it sure feels like it can do it. Haven't felt this good about a new truck in decades. I actually was able to turn my auto door locks OFF! HOO YAH! And .... was able to program them to unlock when I shut the truck down just in case I had manually locked them. DANG! Now that's intelligent design. Can't count the number of times I've had to run all around the truck in a rainstorm in my own driveway just to get into the passenger side where my junk is piled! (of course that's AFTER going first to the wrong side without keys or clicker)

One thing that's taking some getting used to is how low the truck sits. I now know why so many Fords on ebay have lift kits in them. I put a honking Frontier grill guard on it today and it looks like a snow-plow blade. Oh well, It's easy to climb in. I drove home from the truck accessories shop 50 miles in the dark through deer infested ( I hate em. I ride a motorcycle.) territory really sweating it. (the gg was in the bed not on the front yet). I was ready for every fence post and weed to jump right into my over chromed grill.

Truck rides good but still like a truck. Solid. It's so quiet compared to my '99 Cummins I just can't believe it. I can wring 18 mpg out of it if I turn off the AC and drive like an elderly limo driver with the Pope in the back seat. At night. Love the tow/haul although haven't towed yet but I can tell how it works just by using it on some hills. This will WORK. Power assist tail gate with a step and hand post? GoooolllllYYY! Love the mirrors too. Fold flat seats. Perfect. (AND they put a little fold out metal platform down there!!)

Plugged my iPhone in to the really cool sound system. Sweet. Could fit a six pack into the center console with room to spare. It's the best color. Gold/tan/sand (whatever). And oh yeah, it came with a 20k Reese fifth wheel hitch in the back on rails.

I am one happy boy.

Only thing I don't like are the seats. They're ok but not near as big and comfy as my old Dodge. Not enough depth (thigh length). Now shopping for custom seats. Anybody got a suggestion?

Congrats on the new ride. As for custom seats, I can not help you. I just came from a Ford dealer looking to trade in my truck. It has 23K on it, and the bastards want to give me $23,000 on a trade! I am looking at an F350 Lariat CC LB 4x4 w/ basic options like mine, but I want leather seats and HEATED seats. I suppose I could get used to an auto trans. The sticker is $51K and they have it at $39+K. That is too big of a gap for me to swollow now...so I walked.

None the less, welcome to the board and I hope you enjoy your truck.
