High Capacity Trailer Tow Package

Does anybody know for sure the extra parts you get on your truck when you select the high capacity trailer tow package on an f-550 2008 powerstroke. I just go my truck and didn't realize I needed to order the high capacity trailer tow package in order to have the full 33,000 gvcwr instead I only have 26,000. I made the mistake of not getting that option because ford makes that seem like it's something you need if you tow a huge trailer. Well I max out the 19000 gvwr on my truck and then tow a trailer as well. so even though my trailer is not huge, it only leaves me 7000 lbs left to tow according to the gvcwr. The trailer I tow is a forklift and it's around 7000 lbs but if I wanted to ever tow more it sounds like I would be over the limit. According to ford's website and brochures it says that it mainly includes a unique gear set in the 4.88 limited slip. However some dealers I've talked to says it includes a bigger tramsmission cooler as well but there is nothing to support that. All I get is that their is an upgrade on the axle with the unique gear set. Any help would be great!

Re: High Capacity Trailer Tow Package

on the F450 pickup the rear axle is different, the springs are different and the gears go from 430 to 488. Add 40000# of GVWR to get you to 33000 from 29000

$350.00

Re: High Capacity Trailer Tow Package

I think you get the 4.88 gear but a "locking/limited-slip" rear end as well. I have the 4.88 without locking diff.(more reliable).
