How do I read the Boost gauge?

In my 08 I have the Tubo Boost gauge..I never saw one before.

Why did Ford put it in for us since I didn't have one on my 02 7.3? What am I suppose to do with it?

Re: How do I read the Boost gauge?

The boost gauge is like the oil pressure gauge or temp gauge, it is there to watch. Watch where it points so you know what is normal, then if it does something different you will know. Just like the temp gauge running a little warmer than usual tells you that there is a small problem that can be found and fixed at your convienance. Instead of the warning light coming on when your engine reaches meltdown temp on a dark rainy night in the middle of nowhere. You can also use it as a way to get top mileage. The more boost the more fuel you are using. Keep the boost down except when you need it to get better mileage.

Re: How do I read the Boost gauge?

Boost starts showing a little low things like fuel filter/air filter may need changing etc.

Re: How do I read the Boost gauge?

Drive by the boost gauge.

More boost=bad fuel mileage
Less boost = better fuel mileage

You can also tell when the truck is in regen mode because it wont go over about 20psi of boost.
