I am averaging a regen around every 600-650 miles. Regen duration lasts around 10-15 minutes and like Dieselwhisperer have intense amounts of black smoke coming out the rear monster exhaust when i get on it !! Avg. mpg highway / city mix is 15.5, no problems, truck runs like a champ...

We are currently on a cross country trip to Eastern Canada from Manitoba Canada towing 10K 5er.Truck only had 1000 km (600 mi ) when we left home.We are now in St. Johns Newfoundland 6100 kms later. Did not notice any regen in first 1000kms, 600 km into trip the "DRIVE TO CLEAN EXHAUST" message came on 5 minutes before my next fuel stop. Shut truck off to fuel and did not see any more sign of regen for another 1200 to 1500 kms when the same message appeared. This time the process finished with the" cleaning exhaust complete" message. Also while in regen and towing up decent grades it would still pull 30psi turbo pressure wich I thought was limited to 20 psi. Other than fuel mileage and prices it has been a joy so far. Regards.

My truck went to the dealer for a week, they plugged a data recorder (actual black box) in and I am driving around pushing the button every time it regens.
My pos 550 regens everytime I put it in park I move a back hoe a lot and my foot has to go to the floor all the time to even keep it moving. I wishj I had bought a dodge 5500. My next investment will be a dpf delete kit. or a dodge.
I have a lmm duramax and I have never noticed it regening ever and it gets twice the milage and pulls the hoe a lot easier and it has 3.73 gears verse 4.88 on the pos ford. I only have 7000 miles on the truck and the dealer did the last oil change 3500 miles ago. I will change it myself today and use the amsoil cj-4 that is what I use in my lmm .

I have close to 12000 miles on my Truck and can only account for one time when I knew for sure it was regening. It was cold out and laid out a two lane wide 'smoke screen' Other then that I have noticed.
What are the signs and things to look out for when it is regening?
Have you ever heard of HHO fuel that has got to be the best way to save on gas prices.?
? Imagine the savings. It will cost you about $160, or two tanks of gas to install an HHO
conversion kit
Hydrogen Car Kit - Save Money and Improve MPG Massively
Hydrogen car kit empowers your car to run on water and avoid oil as fuel. A vehicle however
will not be able to run on water alone. There needs to be a mixture of gasoline and water to
enable it to run smoothly.
Even the Water Fuel Conversion Kits - How Using Water As Fuel Helps Cut Your Gas Consumption
Recently, there is increased awareness among many drivers of a technology that uses plain
water tosupplement the cars' gasoline consumption. Called a water fuel conversion kit, it is
a simpleadd-on to your current car engine that uses your car battery to carry out an
electrolysis on water to produce Hydroxy gas (HHO). This Hydroxy gas is used to supplement
the burning ofgasoline in the car's engine.
Hydrogen generator kit for car can be better than gasoline or oil additives to raise gas
mileage. When you make or do it on your own, you can save money on gas but will save lots
of dollars on the kit and reproduce the system for other automobiles on your own.
Mine has one approximately every 200 miles and I have not noticed them to be affected by the weather, towing my 5r or really heavy footed/spirited driving.
I picked up an Edge Insight monitor and since then I've seen regens every 120-140 miles or so, towing or not or when idling, for the past 3000 mile trip from Vancouver, BC to Kenora, ON. Doesn't seem to be any special reason so I think it's just programed to do it around this time frame?? When towing it can be a challange especially when your accelerating up a 7% grade in the Rockies, as the EGT's can go a bit over 1300*. Haven't seen any temps over 1400*.
Just want to put my regen results up here now that I've put 5K on her. I did not have a single regen during the first 2500 miles, that was occasional towing 8K trailer around town and hwy miles at 60-75MPH. I picked up my 5th wheel and between Iowa and TX I would regen every 50-75 miles. I figure it's like this, if you're nailing the turbo and black soot should be coming out of the pipe you will see a regen soon.
On another note I had the opportunity to hear the turbo cooler/fan while pulling 17Klbs uphill and man is that thing LOUD, but it pulled like crazy 75MPH uphill with a 17Klb trailer. OBTW that would be 6MPG at those conditions

Pulling 08 Jayco Recon ZX 37U www.WeRideSafe.com consumes my weekends
I am now just shy of 2,000 regen-free miles! With 20,500 on the truck, the only thing I can figure is that the weather being warmer is helping out. Driving habbits, routes, lenghts have not changed. It would be great if it stays like this.
job 1 6.4 just got my truck back dealer had it for three weeks because they could not figure out wy it would just quit running while driving and would not start up, after 3 weeks they changed the fuel pump have no issues so far .
my question is i used to see it blowing whit smoke approx every 1000 or so miles but the last 3000 miles i have not seen it happen ,should i bring it back because of this.
another thing i noticed is when i stomp on the pedal it dose not jump without a 2 second dely is this normal.
