The anticipation and wait is killing me. I am going to be buying a new truck soon to pull our big fiver. I was going to buy a '06 F-550 when the 0%/72 month financing was offered , but the dealer tried to extract an extra $2000 out of me for upfitter charges. I was pissed at first but now look at it as a blessing. Yup, I could have had a very nice '06 and been happy. Though knowing me, I would be kicking myself in the ass for not waiting for the new truck and more powerful engine. I really liked the '06 but the interior was just like my '04 and I think the spy photos of the '08 interior shows much improvement. So now here I am, impatiently waiting like a 6 year old for Santa to squeeze his fat butt down the chimney. I don't care what the Dodge Boys say, I can't wait to buy another great Ford truck. Chevy/GM are great trucks and the Dodge(lucky for them) have the terrific Cummins engine, but the Ford gives me all I want.

Yeah, I'm kind of thinking the same way. I was all set to buy an '07 or spec one to order 'till the dealer offered me about $3k less than my truck was worth. Now I may just wait for the new 6.4 and go to another dealer. I'm not sure what I am going to do.

[/ QUOTE ] Same here. We're looking at a 2008 F-550 (33,000# GCWR tow package) to handle our 40' Travel Supreme fifth Wheel.
Taking a year off from Full Timing to buy the truck, have Fontaine install the bed with 25K hitch and make up our minds on what other aftermarket "goodies" we want.
Hope to be back on the road heading West by next summer.

Where did you go Mike? I got my 05 from Family Ford in Marietta and they did me right. Talk to Mick.

Astorg in Parkersburg. The salesman I deal with is great, the fleet service dept. is great, the guy that does the appraisals I don't care for. I went to the dealer in Fairmont and the price spread dropped $2k with no negotiating.
As close as we are getting to the '08s, I am getting excited to see what the new Superduties are like. If I don't like them, there will probably be some more incentives on the remaining '07s.

Lineman, if your willing to go to Pittsburgh, I can give you the name of a great dealer! They are a truck only dealer. Great service dept too! Let me know if you're interested.

I can tell you one thing, those 08's with the 6.4 are going to be real pricey at first, get your pants down pricey, probably with NO incentives at all, which will make them in my estimation 7-10 grand more than what you can buy an 06 or 6.0 equipped 07 for. That's a lot of jack. I am just guessing, don't have any "secret" inside information as many here do. But with the VERY heavy rebates, discounts and 0% financing for 6 years, it is something to think about especially if the 6.0 does not bother you. I am thinking a nicely equipped 08 6.4 F-250SD is going to actually cost, not the sticker, but cost in the mid to upper forties, might be more, won't be less. If those '08 headlights got any uglier, it'd be a sin.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't mind them. Overall, for what you can tell for the camo, I like the overall looks of the new body style. Other than the headlights, the front end kind of looks like a blend of OBS and what we have now. Removal of the camo may prove different.

That '07 truck will also be worth 5-7K less than an '08 as soon as the '08's hit the showrooms.

Why sure, but it would still be money saved. I am sorta hoping that Ford does not price these things through the roof, but I am fearful they will. They gotta start making some profit somewhere, and I think Ford clearly is looking to the 08 F series trucks to make the majority of their profit. Ford (and others) have been so heavily discounting all of their vehicles that it is going to be interesting to see how 08 F series truck buyers react to much lessened discounting. I have not seen any pricing information , but would anyone doubt that the nicely equipped 6.4's are all gonna sticker north of 50 g's, maybe way north.

The '05 f250 4x4 that I looked at back then stickered for 51K. So no doubt that they will be way above 50. The '06 Mega Cab 4x4 dually with cloth seats had a 53k tag on it.
Looks like my '03 will have a longer stay at this zip code than any other has had.
