I see that Ford is offering

0% interest on SuperDuties and since that means using their money instead of mine, that makes me want to order a new truck. Question for the forum, How does everyone rate the new engine? I see the troubles listed but being optimistic I feel there are more people NOT having trouble than are. The new motor has been out a little over a year and does the forum think they have solved most of the issues. The radiator thing confounds me. Why would you contract a company that cannot crimp or make a radiator? I think the rest of the truck is doing well...drive train, interior, extierior, etc.
I posted some trouble on my 7.3 on the 7.3 forum and recieved the help I needed but now am considering a new truck. My second question is about models. A King Ranch or Harley Davidson? I have a
Screaming Eagle Ultra Glide on order due here in March so I am leaning towards the Harley one ton. I have a dually at present but I
am going to a SRW CC 4X4 this time. Or I can just keep my 01 F350. Some suggestions please.

Keep in mind with 0% you won't get near the deal on the purchase price.

No complaints here. I have a Job 1 and have experienced zero problems, knock on wood. Still on the low end of the spectrum at 5k miles... bought it the end of December, so there is the chance something could happen.

As far as financing, 0% sounds great, especially compared to the lousy rates they were offereing a few months back. The way to go would be to find an X-Plan PIN number. That's the ticket.

Good luck with it all.

Y not? They get you one way or another, but do you want to pay a couple thousand in interest (ie Profit) or have money in your pocket to pay to fuel the thing.

I bought 4 trucks in 5 years. I've made some deals and I've gotten jacked too. But the interest rate has nothing to do with the purchase price of a vehicle to a dealer they don't get the interest.

Sorry for my my rant as a banker.

If you're in the market for a truck 0% is the time to do it.

you might consider saving some money and just buying a new bicycle...it gets much better fuel mileage. and it is enviromentally friendly.

but if you decide to buy the new truck...i think you'll like it. the 6.4 seems to have rolled out pretty well. i paid invoice minus incentives....and the interest rate should have no bearing on the purchase price. Good Luck!

just some helpful info. my single rear wheel f350 truck is no where near as stable as our f550 with the dual wheels.. its not even in the ball park.. but i like the srw because it is alot easier to drive around town and stuff.. it just depends on what you want... pulling stable truck thats towing often, or srw that just tows part time, and everyday driver..
as for the engine and power.. i just saw a bone stock 6.4 f250 out pull my friends f250 7.3 truck that has over $11,000 in the motor and transmission , in a truck pull abour a month ago, and it wasn't close.. no lie... 6.4 has plenty of power that i saw..

the 6.4 is a great engine with a few minor problems. Since you are looking at a KR or an HD the radiator wont be an issue. That has only been an issue on Job 1 trucks, and the KR's and HD's weren't yet released. There have been a few random oil leaks, like mine. ITs an easy fix and the truck was in and out of the shop in a day. I would not hesitate to pull the trigger again on one of these trucks. Screw the fuel mileage issue. I didnt buy an 800lb truck to worry about fuel. Before my lift i was seeing 11-12 in town and 15-16 freeway. I see 11 in town still and about 13.4-14 freeway now.

That's been my experience. 0% is offered through Ford financing. They can't loose money on dealer incentives and interest. That's why you'll never see an employee pricing campain the same time as a zero interest campain. Again just my experience. Please let us know if you're given $10k off sticker and 0%.

i don't think the bad radiators were limited to job 1's, mines a job 2 and has had a radiator. also had a power steering pump and an oil pump (both leaking). even with the issues, it's a great truck...comfortable ride and tows great.

Yep - don't let anybody tell you that you need to pay more on the sticker b/c you're getting a good financing deal. The two are not related. The dealer makes money off your loan by selling it to a leinholder. But I don't know if they make money from Ford Motor Credit. I bet there is some incentive for the dealer to use Ford Motor Credit, though.

Cool

I traded a 7.3 for the 6.4 and love it! Had a small oil leak and thats it, job 1 truck blt 2/07 and now has 14000 miles on it. Overall a great truck and worth the money. I say buy the 6.4 if you need it or just save your money. But, that 0% with X plan would be a good deal. Now the fuel mileage sucks compaired to the 7.3, but are ways to fix that!

My job 1 has had no radiator problems yet either. I've had a check engine light for an oil pressure sensor. Dealership ordered a new one, took it in last Tuesday to let them replace it but after taking off both turbos they noticed that they ordered the wrong part, so I've got to go back next week. I have had no major problems at all. Oh, by the way, I have 18,000 miles on mine now.

King Ranches definitely where available as a Job 1. I bought one in Feb. of 2007 a year ago. Some of the Job 2's also had the radiator problem. The Harley Davidson trim I believe came at a later date somewhere around the begining of Job 2's.

I do agree they are nice trucks. I sure would not hesitate to do it again with 0% interest, especially if that is available on a 5 year loan.

It is available up to 5 year (60 month), after that it's 1.9 or something.
