I stalked the 08 Superduty Power Tour guys last night.
Last night on I-5 south of Seattle I spotted an 08 f-450 pulling a triple axle (20,000 lb.)fifth wheel all painted up with a 08 truck on the side and saying 08 Ford Superduty Power Tour on the side and rear of the trailer. Pulled along side of the truck while climbing a grade and it sure was quiet and did not sound like it was working hard at all. Followed the truck down the interstate, where he pulled off at a Flying J truck stop. I got out and talked to two guys that were traveling around (they were from Texas) teaching the salesmen about the 08 Superduty trucks. This truck was a Black Lariet CC loaded 4x4. It was beaaaaaaautiful truck. Even the front end looks good in person. It was at night and while driving, the headlights were not in your face if you were driving in front of the truck as I was for a time. They let me look at the interior and started it up for me, no bad smell from the exhaust. The rear tailgate step is cool. The only thing I did not like is the dual exhaust tips. They hung low and looked like someone added them on aftermarket and did not do a good job. It is QUIET!! My 05 PS was in the shop getting a new stearing box after spraying like a stuck pig. So I was driving a toyota. I was parked one bay over at the gas station with my window down on there exhaust side (passenger side) When they started the truck to leave, I could barley here the truck over the Toyota running. I had to shut off the car to hear the truck pull away. This truck has the 4.88's. The tech said that there is alot of miss information by the public and misprinted items from Ford on the truck. He said that 4.88's will have 600 ft. lb. and the 4.30's will have 650 ft. lbs. At the end of the conversations they handed me a couple of Power Stroke hats and a cool key chain that are for each Sales manager. I was very happy with what I have seen and heard so far. Time will tell.
Only thing I whould personally do to the truck is take off the Alcoa knock off 19.5 wheels and install a set of 22.5 Alccoa's. With 4.30's that would take it down to a more drivable 4.10's or so.
Re: I stalked the 08 Superduty Power Tour guys last night.
Those exhaust tips are actually functional. They are resonators but not for sound. Them mix cool air with the exhaust coming out. Why do you ask? If the ECM decides to perform a DPF regeneration with the truck idling or not moving, the exhaust gasses coming out of the tailpipe will be near 1000 degrees F! This could burn a leg quite nicely if you were to walk by it wearing shorts. I don't yet know how much this design reduces the temperature but I am sure that it is effective.
Can you tell that I have begun the 6.4L training?

I saw that same truck on IH35 in Austin,TX but I was going to work so I could not stop and talk to them. But I could not hear the truck so it had to be pretty quite. It looked very sweet!!

I saw a 2008 traveling North on 75 out of Cincinnati yesterday evening. It was a blue F350 dually. Unfortunately that's all I could really tell about it. I was already in a dedicated off ramp lane before I saw it and couldn't get over to follow it for a better look.

I just got confirmation on December 6, 2006, that I'm going to finally be a DAD! Anyone got any suggestions for the coolest (safest) car seat? That may well be the best "mod" ever.

BARRELHORSES,
AMEN!!!! me too, but I got you by a few months....
Do you think that they make a King Ranch car seat???
does it look like the passenger side of the bed is removed to anyone else?? is this a cut-away to see the DPF system??
or is there a new "drop side" option

<font color="blue"> I would think that they'd have a rolling chassis with no cab and bed to see everything in intricant detail. But that's just my way of thinking. I do see what you mean, though...
