6.4L Power Stroke Engine and DrivetrainDiscussion of the 6.4L Power Stroke diesel engine and drivetrain in the 2008 Super-Duty trucks. No gas engine discussion allowed except on transmissions and drivetrain that pertain to all models. Please confine discussion of topics in this forum to those items that are specific to the 6.4L Power Stroke engine.
I appreciate the information as to actuality of the strike, especially since it may have direct implications to Fords main engine supplier and parts availability.

Something spooky is going on. I put in a link to the UAW strike and they cancelled my posting both times without explanation. Looks to me the 6.4 engine shutting down would be news on a Ford forum but guess not. Go figure?
And the engine plant struck yesterday and not a posting on this board because they have all been deleted by the moderators.

I would assume this strike is an extension of the UAW strike at Chrysler a few weeks ago, so really it isn't news, other than the possible interuption of crate motors, and parts from the manufacturer. Depending on how many days supply Ford has, this also may or may not be a problem.
As long as we keep the discussion to the facts, and not "step up on our soapboxes", this one shouldn't get deleted.
Moderators: This is my interpretation of the rules, am I correct or mistaken?

Posting a news release about the 6.4 engine plant shutdown is FACT but go figure.
Do you want me to post it a third time and see if it gets deleted?

Moderators have pulled my posting on it two times already. Happened yesterday at Navistar.

Ford truck production continues despite strike
No quick end seen in UAW strike at International
The UAW strike against International Truck and Engine Corp. will not have an immediate impact on production of Ford Motor Co. Super Duty pickups, a Ford spokeswoman said today.
Ford is assessing how the strike would affect production and inventory of the hot-selling trucks if the 4,000-worker strike that began Tuesday, Oct. 23, continues for more than a few days, said company spokeswoman Becky ... story Published: 10/24/07 - 16:00 U.S.

You may have missed it but can catch up by putting a thread together that talks about how this will ruin the reliability.

Things are looking OK for the time being. The Indianapolis plant is on strike. However the Huntsville plant is non-union and is producing/shipping engines.

That one may make it. I saw one of your other posts before it was deleted, and it was full of politics: union vs management, with no doubt whose side you were pulling for. I thought about replying with the other side of the argument, but realized it would be probably deleted before I could post my reply - because it was off topic, and went against the "no politics" policy of posting on TheDieselStop. Looks like I was right.

That is exactly why it was deleted and exactly why this one has not been deleted.
