Cash, investments, income, college, football opportunities, and a new truck. Wow...you'll have your pick of the chicks. Congrats 2008TTCC!!

My kid is 19 and the silly fool bought a house instead.... What a waste, eh?

I can't imagine why a 19-year old would tie himself down to a mortgage payment, limit himself to living in one area, and forgo the experience of college.

I can see taking pride in a truck - but we need to remember it is only a machine.

Who is "we"? A stick in the mud?
At 19, a truck is more than a machine. It's freedom. It's mobility. It's responsibility. It's joy. It's memories. You can't put a price on that Grampy.
Defensive Tackle...pass rush this year (I am a freshman) and then next year our to-be All American tackle will be graduated and i have to fill his shoes...

Nice! that was my favorite position when I played. But I enjoyed nose guard too. I wish I would have continued on after high school. Those were the days...
Thats great! Sounds like you've got off to a good start in life! I mowed yards when I was 13-16 to save up for a restoration on a car my dad left me when he passed away. I was fortunate that my mom and grandparents matched my savings so I had a nice car to drive in high school. Not alot of kids driving cars like this in 91-94:
My point is, I've been there and its a great feeling to set a goal then work hard to obtain it. That is really what life is about. I know you will enjoy your truck and it will serve you well if you take care of it. My GTO is still with me, she sleeps in my garage when I'm not out cruising with my kids, and God willing she's not going anywhere!

I bought my house when I was 20, my 04 F350 New and my first rental house when I 23 and my toyhauler when I was 24 and I had a boat a Yamaha Rhino, a street bike a 67 chevelle SS396 etc.. not trying to brag but just saying you can have it all if you want it bad enough. The only thing I borrowed from my parents was $2000 to buy the golf cart that hauled my my "lawn mowing" trailer around the island we lived on when I was 13. BTW I've made 145k in equity in five years by tying myself to a mortgage payment.
Congrats on the new truck! Let us know how it treats you
