Loss of turbo

Just wondering if this is a common problem with 6.4, it will happen at random times, I just lose my turbo boost, only have about 10 psi max once it gets up to speed. I shut the truck off restart it and I get the turbo back. Anybody having this issue?

no way this is regen, I can barely get going if I'm on a slight hill when this is happening, if I happened to have a trailer on I wouldn't go no where. Also it stays this way until I restart truck.

I agree it can't be regen. if it is that is idiotic. it happenned to me when my truck got stuck in the sand. No boost and wouldn't even move tires.

A regen will limit boost to 20 psi. So if you are only getting 10 something is broken.

I've never heard of this before, I would take it in to your dealer. Since it seems to fix itself after restarting the truck I would hope it is just something electical, a bad sensor or something that puts you into limp mode.

Just wanted to update on my problem, ford ordered me a new turbo actuator sensor? havn't had the issue happen again so far.. anyway no idea what this sensor does but my fuel milage has increased alot since they replaced it. My daily round trip has increased 4 mpg from 12 mpg to 16 having cruise set at 70mph. First time I have ever seen 16 mpg on this truck.

I had this happen about 3-4 times and each time it took a few times (shutting motor off) to get back to normal power. I just had it happen yesterday and it would not clear. I limped home and took it to the dealer today. No check engine light, but it had codes. The egr cooler temp senser was bad. I have 61k on it now.
