I wanted to say I jump on someone else's post a while back saying my truck also lost a lot of power during regen. Well- That's because it didn't have much power all the time. I didn't know it because I didn't have anything to compare it to. I drove my buddy's 08 and we started looking around. The rubber hose that goes between the Turbo and the inner cooler was torn. The hose clamp had slipped off the shoulder and tore the boot. Guess I was loosing a lot of boost and didn't know it. Had ford fix it and now the power is awesome. Just wanted to share.
Not sorry at all for trading up my 2000 7.3! Except maybe of for the payments of course!!!
I have been told Ford is looking at a recall on one of the intercooler hoses as it has a chance of compressing upon hard acceleration. This from the head of service at a lg dealership.
Mine also rarely goes over 20. At what rpm and depression of the accelerator are you guys seeing 30?
I'm referring to unloaded / no trailer. I've maxed out at 30, near-wide-open (3/4 floored) at 3000rpm. Cruising flat ground at 55 is about 8-10lbs. 2200rpm from a light is about 18-20lbs. Is that normal?
Sorry if these are stupid questions. First diesel owner here.
That sounds normal to me. I'll see between 30 and 35 pulling a grade with 15,000lbs behind me.

Measuring peak boost at 75% throttle? That's funny...
You really need to find a "long" and "steep" hill and go 100% throttle to the top. If you're not at or above 30psi you have boost problems or a bad gauge.

At 75% throttle, I was not expecting peak boost. I was only trying to give some real-world examples and numbers to make sure they seemed correct. I'm sure its fine. Thanks for the tip though.
ZeroOne, Thanks for asking the question. I'm a first time owner, too, and I don't know what to expect. The only dumb questions are the ones never asked. Mine's not broken in enough to even try hard accelaration yet (140 miles on the odo).

I just drove around and I'm reaching 30+ pounds at less them 50% throttle, unloaded on level ground.
