My new MPG theory....

so after years of ignorant bliss in my 2000 F350 2wd, I finally hand calculated my mileage the past few tanks, and what has been showing on the computer average of 18mpg (down since the ULSD).. hand calcs out to about 13.5 to 14.5

so I am beginning to wonder if Ford just fixed their computers to calculate correctly,
so now most everybody notices their correct mileage without the extra effort.

Maybe, I know when my 2001 had about 30,000 miles on it, the mpg was only around 15.5 hand calculated. That seems to be what a lot of the 6.4's get any they make a lot more power!

Nice thought, but I didn't have a computer on my 02 and I always hand calculated it. Hopped up with the goddies in my sig, my 02 would still regularly get 16 mpg, mixed city/hwy, driven 75-80 on the highways.

My 08 driven same places, same way... 13.5- bone stock.

when i bought mine new i could get 17 to 20 no prob. but, then came the 315s and it went down to 13 in town . mabye 16 freeway. but the tuner picked me back up to around 15 town and 17 freeway. when these 315s wear out gonna go back to 265s. with the tuner i hope to be a steady 18 to 20 mpgs. and with the tuner it feels like a 6.0 too. very happy with my 02 so far.
