My thoughts - Front end.....

I must admit that the front end isn't near as shocking as it was in the first few spy shots.. It's growing on me, but I was just looking at some of the pics and was wondering...

Some of the pics in the dusk with just the parking lights on, it looks like someone with their upper eyelids flipped up..

You suppose you could take the rt headlight assy and put it in the left upside down and viceaversa?? I'm kidding... No need to reply

Otherwise, as much as I hate modding a brand new truck, Me's thinking the aftermarket is gonna have a hay day with replacement assy's... Similar to the 99-00's with the ugly yellow blob of a turn signal...

Another thought is this could soley be on purpose.. Ford does the radical redesign, most people are still gonna buy it since it's new and has a new engine,, then the next few years they get away with a new "truck" by slightly improving the front end which then again will lure new and existing users to get the better looking front end.
Similar to the 87 I hated it at first, but we ended up buying a new 88 Bronco anyway, then Ford slowly improved the looks...

Again, just my thoughts...

Re: My thoughts - Front end.....

Chevy was a few years ahead with the colorado

Colorado headlights

If you lift your truck, you will appreciate the lower headlights.

I'm not sold on the grill being attached to the hood, however.

Re: My thoughts - Front end.....

I think I need to see if for myself to make the final call. At first I really didn't like it. But then I saw a nice red one and it looked pretty good, but still I am unsure. Part of me hopes I don't like it that way I won't want to buy one...if you know what I mean...

It is better in person. I didn't care for the pics but I liked it in person.

The half tons have been like that since 04... It improves access and servicability to the cooling stack.

I like the fact that you can clean all the bugs off the rad in the summer. And gives more access to engine bay. My 2 cents.

Re: My thoughts - Front end.....

Ditto. I have this on my 2007 F-150, and I find more positive reasons than negative. The whole head butting issue? BS. I'm 6'-5" and have no issues with my F-150, and the Superduty sits up higher yet.

Re: My thoughts - Front end.....

I love the looks myself an frankly that just one part off the truck. I tell you one thing Chevies front end looks stinky compared to this one an yet people still bought lots off those trucks. Each his own Kudos to Ford it looks awesome.

Re: My thoughts - Front end.....

Just guessing... would these "bumps" be three or four tiny "pimples" on the outside?

If this is what you are talking about, these bumps are used as landmarks for headlight aiming devices. All aero design headlamps have these...

Re: My thoughts - Front end.....

no, the head lights have this portion that was pushed out, like concaved. there were two of them, they were the size of the upper and lower part of the lights. did my eyes play tricks on me or have you not seen one up close yet?

I wasn't at first but it sure makes cleaning bugs off the a/c condensor and radiator a lot easier. My neighbor and I had fun cleaning the bugs off of his 99 Super Duty. We had to disassemble quite a few things just to get access to hose the bugs out.
