New 6.4 owner need help

I have a 2008 F250 6.4 PSD. lariat, level kit, ranch hands and 285/65/20's.

I am new to Dieselstop, Thanks for having me. I have a few questions?

Question 1? What is the exspected fuel economy to exspect for this 08 F250. When I pulled off the lot I was getting 13.9 , I have had the truck for 2 weeks and now im getting 12.5 ish, any help here. Also I have heard, after the truck breaks in, I should get closer to 16 mpg, this was told by another f250 owner. Is there truth to this or was this person and the dealer blowing smoke up my ass.

Question 2 ? Does the Job 1 2 3 have any impact on my SD. The truck had sit on the lot for a while. Does the Job # have any impact, I have read some of the post and multiple post reference this.

Question 3? What type of programmer do you suggest for mpg gain and performance. My 05 F250 SD 6.0 with a Triple dog from bullydog blew this 08 out of the water. Need to put something on here quick. Its driving me crazy.

One more question?

What is the regen mode and how do you know when the truck is doing this. I have read multiple threads referencing this. Thanks and sorry for all the questions.

The regen is a process of burning the soot out of the DPF by injecting fuel into the exhaust .Sometimes you do; other times you dont. I am out of place here because I have a Duramax/ Allison but I enjoy reading on all the diesel websites. I have a Dashhawk PN13100. It is a moniter, not a tuner. When installed it does not leave a footprint in your trucks computer like a tuner does. About $300.00 You can find it at dashhawk. com You set it up on your PC. You have to find out which software it takes. You get all you need off their website. It is a great thing to have. It will moniter all the data in you truck computer about regen, EGT, Boost, Soot mast, An d just about anything you need to know. It will do just about anything except kiss you. GOOD LUCK>

Your fuel mileage will not increase after break-in, at least not enough to notice.

If it is a job 1, it has the small air dam. Job 2s and 3s got a larger air dam, which will improve MPGs by about 1.

After 11,000 miles, my fuel mileage has maybe gone up 1mpg. Actually pretty happy considering the weight, gear ratio, hp.tq. and towing ability. Last thing I would ever do is add an aftermarket power enhancing programmer to this fine engine. Not only do I consider them not worth the money, I would not risk loosing a very good warranty from the manufacturer. Maybe I am just an old fart but I see no need to drive faster than I do now. Diesel is expensive and I have not gotten a traffic ticket in about 30 years. I like my cheap insurance rate.

So...........
What you are saying ya 'ole crusty ba$tard is this???
Come on man, cut the trash can off (Lose the DPF).
Get yourself a tuner that can build 500 HP to the rear wheels.
Watch your tranny take a hike and your warranty go away.
Awww, but man that is good...I got 20,000 out of the motor...what the hell
(Tongue and cheek all of course)
