New flash?

I just took delivery of my truck and was wondering if there's a way I can find out if my truck has a newer computer flash available?

Thanks...

What's the build date of your truck? Nevermind, I see yours is a job 2.
I don't believe there is a new flash for your truck.

Your Ford dealer knows.

Every Ford is in the big computer in the sky, and the database includes the latest PCM (computer) program for your VIN. When you visit the dealership, the service manager plugs your truck into the computer and compares the PCM code in you truck to the one in the computer. If they are different, then the dealership downloads the newer program and flashes it into your PCM.

reflash

My truck was built in April 07. I don't know what Job that is. Can I just take it in and see if the programming is up to date or will my dealer contact me if it is available?

Job 1 was production about January thru June, 2007. Job 2 was production about July thru December, 2007. Job 3 is January, 2008 and later production.

If you're worried about it, I'd take it to the dealer and have them plug it in to check. If there is a new PCM program available for your VIN, they should reflash the PCM under warranty. If not, they may want to charge you one hour labor rate for their trouble.
