I have no idea, but the next time it happens, call Roadside Assistance and have Ford take it in. That way you have it documented and when it starts, they can do their thing. Just my recommendation. I had a Government van die on me in Puerto Rico on a mountain road. Lost breaks and steering. I had to use the E-break as we were decending. Put her in N and it started again. That is an uncomfortable feeling.

Could be a lot of things. ECU, power to the ECU, anti-theft acting up, etc. Don't let the dealer tell you that they can't find the problem. Make them fix it. If it did it once, it will likely do it again.

The only rational solution they will find is that you drove the truck while there was too much humidity in the air, or not enough, or over a road that had a small bump, or held the door handle wrong, or you are 1/8 a psi off in 1 tire, or you used reverse gear too many times, or you used the drive gear too many times.
All of these are likely culprits in their eyes and all equals one thing. "ITS YOUR FAULT NOT THE TRUCK OR ENGINES FAULT".
This list has been compiled over time, compliments of me, from the reasons given by idiotic service writers at the dealer.

Good luck on the truck and I still love mine!
