No door protection molding on '08's, am I missing something?

I have been looking at '08's and noticed that most do not have the molding running horizontally down the side of the truck, protecting the doors and the front half of the bed sides. In the SuperDuty brochure, it does show a red XT4 with the molding. That little bit of protection has saved a few nicks in my doors here at work from uncaring fellow drivers. I do not see it on the option list, I know it is a little thing but I really want it. My '04 came with it, did not know it to be an option. I will be scared enough driving the most expensive vehicle I have ever owned on these crowded highways, now I will have to back further into the corner of the lot at work.

We've always added aftermarket. Pep Boys had a big roll. We carry it around in the RV.

Re: No door protection molding on '08's, am I missing something?

Dang it, now I got to go and bug my saleslady one more time. I have already called her back twice since placing the order, for supplemental heat and seat heaters. Kind of surprised it is an option, don't recall it being so in 2004. But got to have it. Okay, I see it in the big, purty SuperDuty book, first item on the Features&Options exterior section. Bodyside moldings-Body color(SRW only) what do they mean be that? SRW only? Mean I cannot get it on the 450, that is DRW only?

Re: No door protection molding on '08's, am I missing something?

Bodyside moldings are available only on the F-250 and F-350 SRW, either as a stand alone option or as part of the King Ranch or XLT Sport packages. They are not available on the F-350 DRW or the F-450.

Ain't that odd? Wonder why not available on DRW trucks. Just because they have a pregnant butt that sticks out, does not mean that an inconsiderate driver won't wack your door with their 1986 cavalier. I may have to see if I can order the correct color strips from Ford and apply them myself.

I am going to ask next time I stop by the shop. Just like the added protection where the verticle side of the truck door panels stick out the most.
