My Feb 2009 build 350 displays the message through the entire regen period. I also have never found any decrease in available power or turbo boost pressure when it regens.
The regen process is very "invisible" beyond the message. I've been loaded with a 2,000# camper and pulling an 8,000#+ trailer at 65 MPH up a pretty steep hill in PA, boost at 35 PSI+ and it's gone into regen and had no detectable effect on power.
The mileage in unloaded mixed highway / city is pretty consistent at 14 average, though it is abundantly clear that the truck has the aerodynamics of a brick since drafting behind a semi will get me about a 30% increase in mileage vs. the exact same road and speed without anyone in front of me.
Overall regen frequency seems to be every 300-400 miles or so. The truck has 4.10 axles and is DRW.
