o8 with 3.55 rear end

does anyone have any idea if a 3.55 rear gears are getting any better milage than a 3.73.thinking about buying and found some with these gears and do you see any problem towing with them. thanks any input will help.

you mean nobody has any information about 3.55 gear option!

They shouldn't be any problem as far as towing is conserned. You have to figure that a lot of the 94-97's had them also with no problems. My only problem with them is that you can only get them with the auto tranny and not with the manual.

My father has an 08 F350 CC LB SRW 4x4 with the 3.55 gears, Job 3. He uses it as a work truck so it also has a service body on it loaded down with tools and equipment. He gets 13 MPG around town and 16 MPG on the highway. He also tows an enclosed trailer as well as several flat beds typically with large commercial A/C units on them. He says it tows great, much better than the other Dodges and Chevys he used to drive.

Not to bad considering he gets the same mileage as me around town, I get 1 better MPG on the highway, hauling around much more weight than I do.

I ordered my 08 f350 with 3.55Ls and have been happy with the power, getting around 15mpg city/hwy driving, and just got back from Yellowstone trip, got 10.4 pulling 12,500 5th wheel though lots of mountains.
