I had a bad day and in a hurry started pouring washer fluid into power steering reservoir before I realized my mistake. Will it evaporate out or do I need to change it asap. I don't see the specs of how much fluid and what type in the owners manual. Should I change it with mobil 1 tranny fluid? How to drain? I drove about 8 miles and it looks foamed a bit. Re: oops, 2 oz washer fluid in power steering pump.
I'd try to siphon out as much as I could and refill the tank with new as soon as possible. You dont want water in the power steering pump.

Re: oops, 2 oz washer fluid in power steering pump.
if you want to flush the system pull the return hose(rubber hose with hose clamp) off the hydro-boost valve up on the brake master cylinder and ad a piece of hose to the nipple and run that into a pan or bucket, then have a quantity of new fluid for the power steering system(i believe it is ATF, but confirm this!) and start the truck and keep filling the power steering reservoir as the fluid flows into the pan/bucket so that the pump never runs dry, continue this till the fluid runs clear/clean -no foam.

Re: oops, 2 oz washer fluid in power steering pump.
i was just about to add that:
jack up the front so you can freely turn the tires from lock to lock w/ the steering wheel to work out all the contaminated fluid that trapped in the steering box.
this really sounds like a two-person (at least) job - one filling fluid, one turning wheel and pumping brakes, one watching fluid coming out??
