overheating

Has anyone had an overheating problem with their 6.4? I am sitting in a Ford dealership waiting room right now (waiting on a glowplug fix on my 04) and the dealer that I always deal with was telling me about the reason International put a hold on shipping engines to ford, he said it was because they were overheating. I'm thinking it was at a different time than the dispute ford and international were having. You would figure that with 10 million miles of testing that they would have found an overheating problem well before now.

Re: overheating

Haven't heard anything about overheating. The assembly hold was a business issue, not a performance one, as far as I know.

He may "think" it's true...or there may be an issue. If so, it will surface here.

Re: overheating

I asked him if he was talking about the International/Ford dispute and he said no. i would have figured it would have been posted here long before he would have found out about it, so until it surfaces here i will just ignore it.

Re: overheating

Ask him where the truck that's having the problem is, if it's someone in the area, ask who it is. The area I live in everyone knows who's having problems with their vehicles, it's a small town!

Re: overheating

I was in a dealership today for yet another reflash on my '04. I asked is they have had any '08s in yet. (I am taking mine in next week for a crooked rear end & no rapid heat) He said they have sold several & none have come back. Mine runs great & is not overheating. I thought I read some where the there was a water pump casting problem causing overheating. But I believe none of what I read & only half of what I see

The OP is going to "ignore" this issue. This thread should be removed.

Re: overheating

Overheating is the least of Ford and Nav's problems, I am sorry you are having that issue with your truck, but it is not a "global" problem........That said I am not for deleting posts about problems, most folks with good sense here can sort out the BS....... I agree people can figure out what they should believe and what they should wait on...We're adults, let's slow down on all the unnecessary locks/deletes

Re: overheating

In the early stages of testing they did have some problems with overheating but it was resolved long before the engine went into production....that was a quote from the diesel tech at my dealer...my .02...

Re: overheating

None of the prior PSDs have ever had an issue with overheatting so I don't think that would be a problem. I agree, overheating is the least of the PSD's worries at this time. Not to change the subject or anything.
