I pulled my cap off & no residue. My coolant never went above the "hot" mark on the bottle when it was hot. I always check under the hood when Im done driving. The temp gauge always stays just left of center no matter how hot it is outside. Im starting to think my EGR coolers are getting thirsty.

Well, it has been one week and I still do not have a truck. The tech did order a part I believe associated with the egr system and when I called the on Tuesday, the tech was in the process of ordering a radiator. I thought they had the radiator issue fixed for the 09's, but I must have gotten one of the left-overs. Right now we are looking at Friday. I will update on the work completed once I have the service record.

Well, the radiator did come in from another dealer but it was damaged. I have been told that it is on back order from Ford, so we will continue to wait.

I just got word from my dealer. He said that the radiator was leaking and they have to change the thermostat as well.

Here is the TSB
Some 2008-2010 F-Super Duty vehicles built on or before 9/14/2009 and equipped with a 6.4L diesel engine may exhibit repeat radiator leaks due to malfunctioning (hyper-extended) high temperature thermostats.

I'll keep you posted.

Don't count on it fixing the problem. I have a ford and 2007.5 gmc. both have had the coolant leaking problem and both was the EGR Cooler. After 8 dealer visits I brought in the TSB on both and "guess what" the egr cooler was the problem. Our dealers are idiots and it appears that we must do our own trouble shooting. Hope you get your problem fixed.

Well, got the truck back late yesterday....replaced radiator and some insulator cover. However, a transmission line was nicked during the install and is leaking fluid...so back to the dealer we go....

This is why I hate taking my truck in. Something always seems to get messed up. But I am still losing coolant so I will be taking mine in soon.

I refuse to take my truck to the dealer anymore. They are buffoons with no respect for other peoples property. I'm sick and tired of stupid butt munchers destroying the county my Grandfather died for.

I'd be willing to place a bet it's your EGR cooler. My truck had the same symptom as your's and after 4 visits to Ford, two scratches, a bent gas tank and strap because they placed the jack in the wrong place, I told them replace the EGR cooler or get your azz kicked. They did and I have not lost a drop of coolant since.

According to my dealer, it was the EGR cooler on my truck causing the leak. They replaced the cooler and some gaskets and sent me on my way. I asked them about changing the oil, since there was trace amounts of anti-freeze detected in my oil and they said they would be glad to but it wasn't part of the warranty and would set me back $140 for regular oil.

I will change my own oil thanks...

Technician was able to get the leak fixed and back to me in under an hour and apologized for his error. It would seem the tranny did not get hot enough on the test drive to divert fluid to the radiator, hence the reason the leak did not show up at the dealer. I only lost just over 1/2 quart according to the tech...funny, looked like ALOT more on the garage floor!! Got to meet their new diesel tech(dealership runs 2 full time techs and have been short 1 recently), pretty cool dude. Still have a few residual drips from where the fluid was blown up into the open frame area in the front of the truck and we will keep watching to see what happens.
