I just heard one go by my house. I must say it sure is quiet. It sounded like my 5.4 work truck, definately quieter than the Duramax. It did not sound diesel at all. I don't know if this has been said before but I figured I would say it.
It has been said, and my comment in my opinion is it's not a good thing. I personally like the noise of the diesel, turbo whine etc.Just my .02

It was just my $.02 also, but I was amazed that I did not hear any diesel sound when they got on it
[/ QUOTE ]No turbo whistle or anything? That stinks.

Yes, when you get on it, it sounds like a big block gas engine taking off. I had the pleasure of taking an 08 F350 c/c dually King ranch for a lengthy spin. What a great truck.
My truck sounds like a big block when I get on it, of course, there's a ton of turbo whistle too!
I haven't had a chance yet to drive or even hear an '08, but I can't wait for the first person who opens one up and gets a sound clip of those turbos lighting.

These comments are hilarious to me, thinking of the whining when the pilot injection was removed from the 6.0. There were tons of posts; people wanted buybacks. Folks claimed that they didn't want the truck if it was noisy.
For me, I don't mind the noise of the 6.0. My 95 7.3 was hard to talk on the cell phone with, but it was o.k. A quieter truck is even better, but not a big deal to me.
To carry on a conversation in the 99 F350, I had to turn down the radio. DH installed the full Banks system to get increase power. Now we can drive with no volume adjustments & even hear the navigation system giving instructions. Don't think Banks is even necessary on the F450. It seems to have plenty of everything already. So we've saved $4000 right there!!!

to each his own. I much prefer the quiet myself. I drive long hauls and I want to be able to hear music, talk shows, phone, or sometimes just pure quiet. the less racket the better.
