Radiator and Warranty Advice

Hi Folks,

I have an 08 F350 Job 1. Purchased new in Oct 07. A year later in Oct 08 at about 8,000 miles the radiator started leaking. The radiator was replaced and a venturi tee valve was installed under warranty.

A couple weeks ago, at 18,000 miles, I noticed another leak and the dealer replaced the radiator again under warranty.

I haven't had any other significant issues with the truck, but this trend has me concerned.

As you can see, I don't put a lot of miles on my truck, as I use it for some light highway commuting, and also for towing a 5th wheel trailer for a few hundred miles about once a month on average.

So, my question is, does the Ford Diesel EngineCARE extended warranty cover radiator replacements and if so, would you recommend I purchase that before my 3 years is up?

Any other advice for me in this situation?

Thanks in advance for any helpful advice.

So, what are folks doing then? Should I just expect to pay the $1400 every year to have the radiator replaced?

I found a new one for $420 and THEN Ford decided to cover it 2000 miles OUT of warranty at 38,250. I'm keeping the spare one.

Talking

We have a Job 1 purchased in Mar 2007 in GA. The 1st Radiator was replaced at 33,000 just over a year later under 36,000 miles warranty in WV. Venturi Tee added a few months later in AL.

Last week, after a couple of months of adding coolant weekly, pressure testing etc, showing no leaking, DH took it in again. NC Ford dealer said it wouldn't be covered under warranty. DH said, you need to call and check on it.

They found it was cavitated behind water pump and leaking on left side of radiator. Besides the new radiator, they also installed a new Venturi tee, new T-stats, new water pump. All were covered at zero dollars under warranty..... Mileage: just over 70,000 miles

We only paid for oil/fuel filter change and rental car. All work is done through Ford dealers, so all records are online for them to verify what we've had done.
