rear end clunking over bumps

I have a 08 F350 and I have a clunking coming from the back end when I go over bumps. I can even feel it in the floor board but it's coming from the rear wheels. Anybody else experience this?

I think what you are hearing is the helper spring hitting the bump stop, I have the same noise and that is what causes it. Hope this helps Randy

Mines the same way. Took me a long time to figure out where the bump/noise was coming from.

I have it too on my F250. I don't have a helper spring so not sure what else to check. Mine does it more when I hit a bump and turn at the same time.

Hmmm, still sounds like springslap.

Maybe a shot in the dark, but if you have step bars, make sure the mounts are tight.

I had a clunk noise in my old truck and it drove me nuts for a long time.

When you mentioned that you could feel it in the floor board reminded me of my situation. I too felt it in the floor.

Turned out that one of the mounting brackets for the step bars came loose.

When I finally found it, I tightened the bracket and the clunk was gone.
