Should I???

Hey 2008 Owners...I went to the SEMA Show in Vegas this week and fell in love with a 2008 F250 King Ranch w/ an 8" Fabtech Lift on 22" deep dish WELDS and I believe they were 37's not sure...Truck was gorgeous and done up perfect...Actually waiting on Monday to find out if I can buy it from the builder Doug Deberti...So, do you guys love your 08s or what? I have a 2005 now that I have loaded with stuff and I LOVE the truck but want to go with a bigger lift and rims...Trying to decide if I should just lift my 05 higher and new rims or sell the 05...Get an 08 and do the new one up how I want....SO what do you all think?
Thanks

Re: Should I???

i can't speak for the difference from an 05, i went from an 03 7.3 to the 08. not even comparable. it rides like an suv, pulls my 5er like it's not even there, and with it being a new model in the market...the heads turn constantly when i roll by!!! i don't think you will be disappointed, most of the feedback i've seen is that people are pretty impressed with the 6.4

Re: Should I???

I have been doing some serious research on the new ford ! and all I can say is the aftermarket lift and tires may void your whole powertrain warranty! and maybe the complete warranty!

Re: Should I???

At this point in time, I would wait for Ford to remove there heads from there perverbial back sides about the lift rim and tire issues. I have never seen or heard of the stupid things a company like Ford is pulling lately. I was going to buy an 08' I am still on the fence, I might just stay with my older stuff a while longer. Ther ewarranty issues would not apply to me though, I don't go higher anymore. The trucks handle much better in stock form. I am just going to wait it out until the 6.4 proves its self as a great motor, and the MPG's get a little better to.

Welcome to the board, great 2nd post. Did your "serious" research on "voided warranty" info come from the recent thread on this site?

OP, do you have any pics of the truck your wanting from the SEMA show? And of course any time you buy something modded, or mod it yourself you run the risk of becoming your own warranty writer.

Your research is incomplete.

Chevy and GMC will void the factory warranty if you lift the truck, or otherwise hot-rod the truck so it's no longer stock. Dodge and Toyota and Nissan will all void the factory warranty if you lift the truck.

So bashing Ford because they void the factory warranty because of aftermarket mods is not cool, unless you bash them all.

Re: Should I???

Maybe you need to read my post? I did not bash Ford! I was seriously researching the new 6.4 I was so serious that I was preapproved but this is not the only forum I read people are having Warranty issues left and right and I didn't compare to chevy because I'm not buying a chevy so 1 post or last post my opinion stands unless you have some INFORMATION that will help me change my mind?! Did he post something else that was deleted? Because if not your post is a non-sequitur! He wasn't bashing anything simply stating a point and WTH does Chevy, Dodge, or Toyota have to do with the price of tea in China?

Re: Should I???

Appears from the discussions its better to lift an older truck out or warranty than a new one in warranty.

Maybe you could:

1.buy a new truck
2.inform Ford you are going to lift it
3.ask Ford to give you a $5000.00 refund on the warranty that is now useless and voided
