So just an update.

I drove the truck home. No problems.

A couple short drives around town. No problems.

500 mile drive today. No problems.

As a matter of fact, I logged 17.8 MPG. Before I made the trip, I logged 17.4 MPG.

For the trip, I used cruise control almost the whole way.

I'll be driving another 500 miles on Sunday.

So far so good.

I had received the newest flash a month or so ago and I have to say I like it. The most noticeable aspect was the regen, I absolutely do not notice when it goes into regen anymore!

As far as MPG goes, I do not pay much attention because as a man I am obligated to cry as little as possible...

Peter.

So....can I just take my truck into Ford for a reflash? I bought my F350 SRW with about 20k miles on it. I think it is a Job 1 as it was built in early 07.

Why? Does it run bad? driveability concerns?

You can register here: https://myford.fordvehicles.com/serv.../Page/HomePage

Useful to monitor recalls, track service ect. There may be a recall that was not performed and then you can get it taken care of if needed.

Blows hose off turbo , the blue one attached to aluminum tube. (exhaust side)?, tube goes towards front. Acts like back pressure build up and blows it off?

I have read quite a few replies from individuals who said they took their vehicle in for unrelated service and when the dealers run the computer diagnostics they see the flash version and will update to the latest as part of their service. A number of guys got the famous 08B07 flash that way and were not happy with it. That one also programmed the transmission controller and had to be suspended because it was wiping out the trans controller. The original 08B07 letter said there was a limited duration for having the update - if it was a recall there would be no limited duration.
Hey TDW (and everyone else) - what were the transmission controller issues that happened with the 08B07 update? I purchased my 08 F250 in July 2007 and it includes the tow package. I received a letter stating that I had to take my truck in for the update or it could effect my warranty. When I got the truck back, my tow/haul mode was messed up - if I get into a hilly situation, I can't just push the tow/haul button like I used to be able to do to keep the trans from changing gears up and down and get the extra power, I have to slow down to less than 45 mph and turn it on or else the o/d stays engaged. Also, my breaking in tow haul doesn't work - If I'm on an incline, I used to be able to hold the break and let the trans down shift and it would then hold that speed, but not now.....nothing. Has anyone else had this problem come up after the update? What was the point of pay the extra for the tow/haul mode when Ford has now made it totally useless?

It is apparant that the flash was done improperly. Had the flash been taken as designed it would have driven as always, the flash changed the shift points and included a update to the message center to notify you of the "cleaning exhaust filter".

You will have to take it in. They will need to know that since the reflash your tow/haul does not work. They may have messed up the TCM.

Thanks for the feedback Senix. I've had the flash done 3-4 times by the dealership (who agreed that there was something wrong), who finally upon my throwing a fit contacted the local Ford rep, who in turn got with a Ford tech. The tech and the rep (and I guess now the dealership) say there is nothing wrong and it is working properly. They actually said that it wasn't working properly before the update...... Do you have any suggestions as to what I can do now?

re-contact Ford cust svc yourself, tell them the background, ask to go to another dealer.
