Show me where the warranty jargon is?

I have an Uncle that swears Ford changed the warranty on the 6.4L to 3 years & 50K... I know better, but I can't find anything on the website that actually shows the actual numbers.

I think he's getting it off the brochure for the gas engines..

Anyone know where it's posted on-line?

Thanks...

Musclford

Re: Show me where the warranty jargon is?

Well the 6.0's have a 5/100K on the motor I can't believe Ford would have a lesser warranty on the new 6.4L. I think the new warranty on the Ford line gasser's is 6/60K (too many Beers to remember accuratly right now LOL)

Re: Show me where the warranty jargon is?

I'm not sure about online but if you look at the superduty brochure, back page at the bottom it states and I quote.

"For more assurance: There's now a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain limited warranty that's fully transferable with no deductible-deisel engine warranty is 5 years/100,000 miles-on select engine components"

Looks like 5 year/100,000 miles. What select components is the question!!!

The diesel's still have the 5/100,000 warranty on select engine components.

Re: Show me where the warranty jargon is?

probably EPA mandated emission components
I went and grabbed my Super duty 11x17 brochure and it's different than yours! mine only comments on the 3yr 36000 I looked at a ford extended for the 6 yr 100k they had different levels of coverage but bottom line you were spending a few grand more and thats kinda why I don't have one yet

When I bought my truck I was told internals only. That’s one of the reasons I spent then extra cash and bought the extended warranty because it covers anything for 5 years 100,000 miles. I may have wasted my money but I know one trip to dealer for a tranny issue and my up front cost will be covered. Heck, if you have a problem with a power mirrow, power window or power seat these days you’re already spending a couple hundred dollars to get it fixed so to me it was worth it.

Re: Show me where the warranty jargon is?

The warranty on the 6.4L is the same as the 5yr/100K on the 6.0L.

The information can be found in the warranty book at the link...

Re: Show me where the warranty jargon is?

you think they would actually advertise that! the ford website doesn't back that up at all and has been a major factor in my apprehension! I guess I'll call the dealer again and get whatever it is in writing

Re: Show me where the warranty jargon is?

I thought the simple of it was 3yr/36000 bumper to bumper,
5yr/60000 engine and trans and rear axle no deductible.
and 5 yr/60001-100000 miles is engine $100 deductible.

Is this what you guys get from reading through the stuff?

I'm leaving emissions warranty out of this completely!

Re: Show me where the warranty jargon is?

I didn't type the warranty info I posted I actually pasted it from ford so I'm not seeing the 100,000 part? 100 deduct I could live with but that sounds like an extended optional warranty? like I have on my other vehicles

The "free" extended warranty on the diesel engine didn't change. Go back and re-read the PDF file PowerStrokeHD posted. At the bottom of page 11 in that booklet you'll see the
diesel engine warranty for 2008 6.4L engine:

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: Ford Motor company 2008 warranty guide</div><div class="ubbcode-body">(4) Your vehicle's direct injection diesel engine and certain engine components are covered during the 6.0/6.4L PowerStroke Diesel Engine Coverage Period, which lasts for five years or 100,000 miles, whichever occurs first. The following parts are covered during this extended coverage period: the engine, cylinder block, heads and all internal parts, intake and exhaust manifolds, timing gear, harmonic balancer, valve covers, oil pan and pump, water pump, fuel system (excluding fuel lines, fuel tank and frame mounted fuel conditioning module sometimes referred to as the frame mounted pump/filter/water separator), high pressure lines, gaskets and seals, glow plugs, turbocharger, two-stage turbocharger assembly (6.4L), turbocharger actuator (6.4L), powertrain control module, engine control module (6.4L), high pressure fuel injection pump assembly (6.4L), electronic driver unit, injectors, injection pressure sensor, fuel rail pressure sensor (6.4L), high pressure oil regulator, exhaust back pressure regulator and sensor, exhaust pressure sensor (6.4L), manifold pressure sensor (6.4L), intake air temperature sensor (6.4L), crankshaft position sensor (6.4L), accelerator switch. </div></div>

Reading through that warranty booklet, I don't see any mention of the $100 deductable on engine repairs after 50,000 or 60,000 miles. So maybe that deductable is no longer applicable?

Re: Show me where the warranty jargon is?

I bought a 7 year / 100,000 mile warranty with $50 deductible through my credit union. It covered everything the Ford Warranty covered. I plan on owning this beauty for quite along time.

I believe the deductable was dropped from the 5/100 diesel warranty starting with MY2007 PSD's.
