Hello all

I read the thread re white smoke regen issues

Heres what happened to me.

Im pulling up a long hill, in TH mode with an unladen equipment trailer on - 2500lbs. Top of the hill is a traffic light. 50 yards from the traffic light the truck spools up on its own, kicks down and is accelerating like I have the pedal to the floor. All the while kicking a cloud of smoke the military would be proud of. It took me a second to react but I end up throwing the truck in neutral and locking it up. Its still revving smoking etc. I shut it down and when the smoke clears I am through the intersection. Glad it was clear.

It is in the shop and Iwill let you know what they find

I get that also but not when I am towing. I will be sitting at a light and all of a sudden it rev's up to where I have to push hard on the break to not have it move forward. It also happens when I am backing into a spot, it will just start hauling a@# and I have to slam the break before I hit something. Never noticed the smoke because I was to worried about hitting things but after I put it in neutral it stops. I have a job 3 and no updated flashes.

This happened to me as well when I was driving one of the company trucks, it was in reverse and the RPMs probably increased by 300 over what is normal. It certainly gave me a startle, but I didn't notice any smoke nor did anyone that was around at the time.

I'm starting to think these trucks have a mind of their own.

I called the shop. Nothing showing up as wrong. They test drove it and it did the same thing on a lesser scale to the Mech.
It stays in the shop for another day.

Can it be the throttle getting stuck?
