Thinking about a 6.4

Hi guys, I'm in the market for a new truck. My 06 6.0 liter burned up and was totaled and I'm thinking about getting an 08 superduty w the 6.4. I've heard good things and bad things about but I also did w the 6.0 but mine was great. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I just made the switch back to a Ford from a Dodge. The Dodge was a really good truck too. But this new 08' F350 dually is leaps and bounds ahead of what I had. I'm not real thrilled with the fuel mileage it gets compared to the 5.9 Cummins, but Hey, I'll just have to work a little harded to pay for it.

08 6.4

The only problems most of us have had are with fuel mileage. But then all the manufacturers are having the same problems with the EPA involved and cleaning up the trucks emissions. The only problem other than that is I had to have the radiator replaced at 12000 miles started leaking.

No real problem with mine so far. Purchased in December, and only have around 4000 miles on it. Fuel mileage compaired to my 06 Dodge is terrible, but it is a much nicer truck!

If you want an auto, be prepared to get around 12-13 mpg. If you get a manual, 14-17 mpg. Those are empty of course. They run great, lots of power, miniminal turbo lag, lots of interior room. Find a Job 1 if you can...no TPS. I noticed from your signature block you like to tweek your powertrain...forget that if you want your warranty around. With 350hp and 650 lbft of torque...why would you want a chip anyway...you need the money for diesel!

Also purchased in December. Have close to 5000 miles on it and have had no issues so far. Will be doing my first oil change on my own in about two weeks.

I consider my '08 F-250 to be 10 times the truck that my '04 F-250 was.... the best fuel economy my '04 EVER got was 15.8.... I can get over 17.5 with my '08 with some mods done to it... it rides better.... it has more available features... the interior is way nicer.... I recommend it!

I'm going to my dealership tomorrow to see if I can order one. I built one online and it came to 54,000, I get A plan through ford so hopefully it won't be so bad. Should I get one now or wait closer til the 09s come out for better incentives? Thanks.

If I had it to do over again and I was in your shoes I would get a 07 6.0 diesel. The 6.4 is great but the DPF makes things alot harder to do.

I've been thinking of getting an 06-07 f350 6.0, I have all my aftermarket parts off me 06. I can't find one with decent miles at a decent price. I loved my 6.0 no problems and it had tons of power and towed awesome! I'm still on the fence about this.
