Three Simple (i.e. Dumb) Questions from New 08 SD Owner

Hi All - well I picked up my new 08 F350 CC the other week. I wanted to say thanks alot to everybody here who provided excellent advice to this first-time diesel owner (and first-time big truck owner). I love the truck so far. Very comfortable, quiet and nice looking. Only have 160 miles on so far, but am enjoying it whenever I can. I ended up keeping my Honda Accord for my short 3.5 mile trips to/from work. Based on how "big" the truck feels after all these years driving an Accord, I'm glad I kept the Accord as a beater car. Otherwise, I'm afraid the truck would get banged up during all the short trips I make.

I'd like to post some pics, but am I correct that this forum doesn't allow file attachments? If so, I'll need to figure out how to load those pics on some website that I can provide links to.

Two other simple questions:

1) In the diesel supplement manual, it says there are two fuel filters (one on top of engine and another under driver's floorboard). Yet it only gives instructions for draining one of them (the one under floorboard). Does the one on top of engine not need drained?

2) I was suprised to see that my radio antenna cannot be lowered. It hits on the top of my garage door frame whenever I pull into/out of the garage. Am I missing something here?

Thanks!
Gary

Gary, the primary filter is the only one with a drain. That is the one on the frame rail.

As far as the door frame and radio antenna goes, well do you have a chain saw????

Enjoy your new toy!!

Richard

I got the 15" stubbie antenna and helps out big time with that issue plus I think it looks better.

There is a members photo gallery right here at The Diesel Stop. Check the site menu on the top of the right column. See it? Photos
