Traction Control

Anyone know if the optional Traction Control on the 08 SD can be turned off?

Re: Traction Control

They mention in several places it can be turned off. Doesn't every vehicle with traction control have an override button? I don't think I've seen one yet that didn't.

Re: Traction Control

My '03 Cobra had a traction control button. That was part of the startup procedure....start car, hit button. Got so I didn't even know I was doing it! I did sometimes turn it on in the rain though....

Re: Traction Control

What is it intended to do? Apply brakes to slipping tire in low traction situations? Will this help off road traction or is it designed for on road?

Re: Traction Control

if it's like all the other traction controls it cuts back the throttle/power the instant it detects slip. supposedly good for adverse/slick road conditions.

Re: Traction Control

It works great on my 2004 Expedition. I tried to spin out and it wouldn't let me do anything, but go straight ahead. I buried the throttle and the Expy just creeped at or slightly below the current speed through the icy patch until all four tires were spinning at the same speed. It works even in 2WD.

If I turn it off, well then the fun begins.
