Tranny Question

I would like to start out with a thank you for this service that you boys give-its great and i really appreciate it -this is a very helpful forum- any how this is my second F250 i had a 01 and now have a 08. when i first got the truck it was so tight compared to the 01 - but when i put it in gear now (after 5000miles) i get a little clunk not loud but i feel it and when i come to a stop i feel it when i accelerate , it feels like something is loose -is it just breaking in? its not really bad, but it is not as smooth as it was for the first couple thousand miles, should i bring it in? i dont want to ask the dealer i know what they will say

Re: Tranny Question

I gotta ask; Have you checked your transmission fluid?

Re: Tranny Question

Did you check your hubs to make sure they are both on auto?

Re: Tranny Question

Mine stared that clunk you described about 3 weeks ago. My 08 F250 CC 4x4 has 4300 miles on it now. Along with that little clunk mine also started a groan/vibration when I cruise 55mph and only in overdrive while the engine turns 1500 rpm's. Took it to 2 dealers both said nothing was wrong and 1 concluded it was an exhaust harmonic groan and that the sound was duplicated with a new truck on the lot. I say BS! My conclusion is that the dealers only want to repair the obvious and don't want to chase gremlins. If it's not on the TSB they refuse to acknowledge there is a problem.
