I'm currently doing just that here in Colorado.
My dealership has done everything for me up here in the high country in trying to get my 08' 6.4 running again, including rebuilding a blown engine (like what happens in NASCAR) Replacing numerous DPF's & DOC's and just yesterday my truck just up and quit while driving on the interstate, another scary incident to say the least....and once again in the shop for like the 10th time.
Anyway they are having much difficulty in getting Ford to help them get me back on the road, this is why I decided to take things into my own hands. C'mon Ford a $50 K truck that blows an engine at 20K miles and continuously does regen's 24/7 is a problem!
So in my humble opinion, sounds like we are in the same boat and Ford needs to step up and deal with this and quit trying to brush us aside! If they continue on this path, they are destined to lose a lot of loyal customers!
Oh, and once again thanks to our Government and the EPA which thinks they know what's best for the all of us....gggeeessshhh!

Well the regional Ford tech came out to look over my truck. He started from square 1 ad went through everything again. He sail that i had contamients in the fuel that made my low presure and high presure fuel pumps fail, then when that happened it made all 8 injectors fail ? SO now it has a new oil change, fuel filter change , high presure pump low presure pump wire harness. They said that this should fix the issue. I said ok great ,what about all the raw fuel that has been getting in the DPF ? Im ssure it is going to be bad too? "Well sir it seems to be ok" . Today is the 17th day it has been in the shop , i should have it back today will see, but the odd thing is i brought my truck in for a air rushing sound not any fuel issues ? could this all be related ? I will let you know when i get it back for sure and if the noise is still there.

Just like i thought, I got the call 10 min ago , saying that we put your truck back together and started it and was running fine went to drive it and it died! Noe they are getting a air intake temp code and a fuel code ... What now !!

That's the problem with all the new high tech stuff, everything is so interrelated and interactive that one sensor that is out of spec by a fair margin but not totally failed can really confuse everything.
I bet that's what will ultimately be found one sensor off enough to cause the PCM to adjust something else to compensate resulting in a domino effect of faults.
I got a call last night that my rental was ready to pick , in other words we stilldont know whats going on ... When i talked to the tech he said he was able to fix one of the codes air intake temp sensor blah blah and got the truck to idle, then died . check for codes and found more fuel presure not right and one for the DPF. He said there has been some issues for the high presure fuel pump and that now I need a new DPF , this is what is causeing it to die. So now to get you up to date :
