Anyone got an opinion on how long they will hold the already built trucks in "storage", before shipping resumes???

My truck was built and released the week of 2/12 and I have yet to receive it. Supposedly it has been reflashed as of 3/15 and is awaiting a rail car to Kansas City. I am really getting perturbed that as I ordered my truck right after the order guide came out in Late November. It has been almost 4 months and still no truck! Been built for 1 1/2 months still sitting in Kentucky! You would think they would get a sold truck off the lot!

Re: Trucks already built???

Dealer called me this morning, your truck built 3/21; now in storage.

Dealer called at 10:00 and said my truck is now on their lot.

Re: Trucks already built???

I don't think the hold up is reflashing these trucks. Everyone seems to forget the reason the flame throwing incident happened was because of injector issues. I think they are either fixing or trying to figure out what to do about the injector problem. Even if they were just torqued wrong, there are a lot of trucks that needs some attention in that department too.

I think behind the scenes they stopped shipping these trucks to keep the warranty costs down and to minimize the damage to their reputation. With the 6.0 they kept shipping. They aren't going to repeat that mistake with the 6.4.

Re: Trucks already built???

I ordered my F250 on January 5th. The invoice and MSO show a build date of February 12th. It was delivered to the dealer on March 22nd. They re-flashed the truck and did the PDI the next morning, and I took delivery on the 24th. I only have 210 miles, but mine did it's first regen this morning. Everythimg worked as planned.

Re: Trucks already built???

You should receive notification in the mail that your truck is subject to field service action 07S49 (the dealer will consult OASIS to be sure your truck requires the reflash). At the same time, if you have reservations, it wouldn't hurt to visit your selling dealer and inquire.... they may be able to "fit you in", if necessary, leaving the whole thing as convenient as it possibly can be.

The number is much larger than 4500 of total vehicles that are not yet delivered to consumers, more likely around 25000 plus.......

i actually forgot about the holding lots at the plant - the number i quoted was for trucks that were in an off-site storage area (the old showcase cinemas in louisville)
