yes there is i cant remeber it off the top of my head, 8-20 something i beleve it allows ur boost to go over 20 psi in a regen

There looks to be a new TSB posted 8/17/08
TSB 08-13-2 (for pre-8/3/2007 built trucks) and 08-13-3 for newer ones.
TSB 08-13-2
This article supersedes TSB 07-17-3 to update the Service Procedure. ISSUE:
Some 2008 F-Super-Duty 250-550 vehicles equipped with a 6.4L diesel engines and built prior to 8/3/2007 may require a calibration update which will include:
Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) regeneration will no longer initiate at Idle and in power-take-off (PTO) mode. When "Drive to Clean Exhaust Filter" is displayed on the instrument cluster PTO and/or stationary elevated idle (SEIC) must be disengaged/inactive in order to properly clean the DPF. If this message is ignored, your vehicle is operating in a manner which continues to fill the DPF. As a result the DPF may become full of particles. If this occurs, the "reduced engine power" light will illuminate and engine power will be limited. The "Drive to Clean Exhaust Filter" message will continue to be displayed until adequate drive cycle is completed. If the vehicle is operated in a manner to allow effective automatic cleaning the message center will display "Cleaning Exhaust Filter" indicating normal regeneration process.
Diagnostic and malfunction indicator operation improvements for P0128, P0196 and P2002.
Enhancements to reduce vehicle surge and improve resume function during cruise control operation.
PTO Content; vehicle speed output signal used by vehicle upfitters will now read zero when vehicle is stopped and PTO idle engagement RPM ramp-rate revised.
Improvements to reduce P0544, P2031 and P242A set on long deceleration after cold-start.
EGR disable function at idle is now determined by exhaust temperature and not idle time.
If normal Powertrain Controls/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) diagnostic procedures lead to replacement of the DPF please ensure that the powertrain control module (PCM) is reprogrammed to the latest service calibration.
This calibration also includes the following instrument cluster (IC) message center display updates: Stop Safely Now, Engine Warming, drive to clean exhaust filter, cleaning exhaust filter and exhaust filter drive complete.
How can this be , I lost 1/2 a days pay plus a 135 mile round trip for a tech to tell me sept 07 was the latest flash . Could service departments lie??? Why?? I also see I need to update my signature.
08 F450 CC Lariat 4X4 , now with 21845 miles

"message center will display "Cleaning Exhaust Filter""
Sweet
"improve resume function during cruise control operation"
I assume this means no wide open throttle when you press the resume button. Now only if they would fix the cruise so you can use it at 25mph.

bduddy,
I could be wrong but I don't think your dealer lied to you.
You may have taken your truck in yesterday morning, and this TBS did not come out until yesterday evening. It may just be a timing issue when it was released.
> Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) regeneration will no longer initiate at Idle
Alright, who parked in dry grass and left the engine running and a regen kicked in? Sounds like lawsuit prevention to me.
As a fringe benefit, this should make it easier to sell the new 6.4L F-450/550 chassis into the emergency vehicle conversion market (ambulances).
Actually, this looks like a "must-have" recalibration/reflash, not only for the already-mentioned benefits but particularly for those who drive in seriously-cold weather states. Take a look at the DTC fixes in more detail:
> Diagnostic and malfunction indicator operation improvements for P0128, P0196 and P2002
P0128: This error occurs when the ECT sensor signal indicates a coolant temperature lower than the operating temperature of the thermostat for an extended period of time.
P0196: This error occurs if time required for EOT to warm up to 50 degrees C is greater than the specified value or the EOT does not change by at least 2 degrees from the value stored in KAM, followed with the engine running off low idle. (20 minutes of engine running and EOT has not changed more than 5 deg C)
P2002: This error occurs if an expected pressure drop through the DPF is lower than the specified value following a regeneration cycle (based on the concept of normalized pressure differential).
> Improvements to reduce P0544, P2031 and P242A set on long deceleration after cold-start.
P0544: This error occurs if the EGT1 temperature signal of the exhaust system does not rise sufficiently immediately after a cold-start following an 8-hour soak.
P2031: This error occurs if the EGT2 temperature signal of the exhaust system does not rise sufficiently immediately after a cold-start following an 8-hour soak.
P242A: This error occurs if the EGT3 temperature signal of the exhaust system does not rise sufficiently immediately after a cold-start following an 8-hour soak.
The P2002 adjustment could be the first step towards a regen-when-you-want switch. That would be a sweet aftermarket mod.
IMHO the goodies in TSB 08-13-2/08-13-3 should be front-page news for any 6.4L owner and not buried down in this thread!

This is the ford part number, for that flash.
basically the tech can read the part number for the program on your truck
if it is not this one, you do not have the most current. they will also reprogram your TCM and IC 8U7A12A65OCB

Interesting, My truck is a job 2 built in 10/07 and does an idle regen. At least thats what I think it is doing when the idle revs to 1200 and comes back down upon hitting the brake pedal. No display of regen.

Mine does not display the messages either.
I believe this new update enables this on all the turcks for their message center. A new feature maybe.
BTW this new flash looks like it just can out yesterday, so unless you got your truck flashed today you will not see this.
I hope that the AVG MPG indicator is way off! It was very close before. My truck went from 12.3 mpg to 11.6 mpg in a 25 mile trip mixed driving no over 2k revs no long idling and Empty had 180 mile on the tank. Quick math 6.56 MPG!!!!!!!!!
