Turbo Lag Getting Old

I thought my 2007 6.0L had lag, but after 25,000 with my 2008 6.4L, I have to say this truck takes the ultimate prize. I can hit the go pedal, and make a full 6 foot submarine sandwich with the works, slice it in twelve sections, and wrap three sections before the truck decides to move. Thankful I don't work for Jimmy Johns!

Other than my regens dropping from 500 miles to 200 almost like a snap of the fingers, this thing runs like a sewing machine. I just hate having to brake while gassing it to cross an intersection.

All seems good. Not making oil. Tailpipe clean as a whistle. Have the white smoke on rainy days option (didn't pay for it, though). Air filter clean. Just changed fuel filters. MPG averages between 13-16, with the average about 14.5 to 15.

Can I resolve this lag issue? Sometimes the truck just feels like I have four flat tires and I have to punch it just to get it to move.

Thanks,

Smoke

I thought that was one of the reasons for the smaller turbo, to reduce lag?

Tuning is the only option available for the lag.

Yep, all the things you mentioned would be history if you choose the right way to tune the truck... can't talk about it here.... see powerstrokin's sig for the answer (the 2008 Ford description).

its not really lag. its a soft spot built into the programming. remember, when you hit the throttle you are just pushing on a sensor. Its not the effect of the turbo then that is the problem, its the truck decided when to fuel. the if you "lean onto the pedal" instead of flooring it you'll notice a huge difference. even my spartan tuned truck lags a bit off the line, but when the boost hits, hold the F on

My stock '08 has no lag.

My dad and I bought an '08 F250 King Ranch 4x4 to use for towing and hauling to our deer lease and ranch and I have to say that this truck has NO LAG at all. I have an '04 6.o 4x4 for my personal truck and as far as lag is concerned with it terrible, its a night and day difference.
The '08 has 67k on it now and we've never had a need to floor it with the power and speed it has stock. No chips/programmers/intake or exhaust. It has big block gas acceleration and diesel power. I love it.

I only notice it once in a great while. Keeps me from burning up the tires and driveline. I lean into it as well. I still get speeding tickets though.

i sort of wish i had more lag now that i have the spartan. 1/2 throttle rolling burnouts are getting old

I never had a lag problem either. Steady push on pedal makes all the difference
