6.4L Power Stroke Engine and Drivetrain Discussion of the 6.4L Power Stroke diesel engine and drivetrain in the 2008 Super-Duty trucks. No gas engine discussion allowed except on transmissions and drivetrain that pertain to all models. Please confine discussion of topics in this forum to those items that are specific to the 6.4L Power Stroke engine.

Upgrade to 2008

About 2 months ago I had a pretty bad collision with my 2006 F350 crew cab. After 6 weeks and $12,000 later I was not happy with the repairs and still see frame damage. The only thing to do was upgrade.

I'm happy to say that after 200 miles I love the 2008. Rides smoother, quieter and has way more power. The ovarall fit and finish is twice that of the 2006. Hope the milage increases once it loosens up.

hate you lost your old rig. i've enjoyed the hell outta mine (crew cab, lariat, 4wd) so far. it's the first oil burner i've had (traded '04 f150 supercrew lariat 4wd). i've only got 2k miles, but i've noticed on long (3 hrs plus) interstate trips (haven't pulled anything yet) the mileage steadily increases (running 73-75). as far as i'm concerned, i'm hooked on it.
hope you enjoy yours. from what i understand, mileage will increase with break-in...

After driving this one for a few days now I don't consider the old one a loss,

After a full 211 miles the lieometer says I'm getting 11.7 MPG. I will wait and see and track it. I know with my 6.0 i was getting 15 around town and 10-11 towing the toy hauler.

I have always said though, " If i bought my vehicles for mileage I would'nt be driving a 1 ton truck"
