Question what weight is factory oil

I've had my truck just 2 months and it now has 3000km on it. Winter is coming and the owners manual says I should be running 5W40 oil. Does anyone know what weight of oil is in it from the factory? It was built in June 09 and I am wondering if it needs changing or not?
Thanks

Seems a little soon for a stock truck to need an oil change. I go 5000 miles. Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but 5w40 is for colder place, and 15w40 is for warmer. so in ca 5w40 should be correct in the winter.
