What's the best oil to use in 6.4?

I have '08 F250 6.4 liter and it's time for the 2nd oil change (10k miles). 1st one was at the dealer. I am a huge fan of Mobil 1, but I'm not sure what oil meets the CJ4 spec requirements and won't plug up my DPF.

I am using Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel ... it meets the CJ-4 spec ... I have used Mobil 1 in my last 2 trucks so, I say stick with what you know works

DELO LE 15W40 is CJ certified and will meet all your 6.4's oil requirements out to 10k. Its about half the cost of any synthetic. Your money, your call.

Motorcraft 15W40 is CJ-4 certified and comes in 5 quart jugs at Walmart for $11. Shell Rotella T 15W40 is also CJ-4 certified and comes in 4 quart jugs at Walmart for $10.50. I noticed most of the other compliant oils are similarly priced.

Motorcraft is the best value for your money. I'd run it just because it's simple: three 5 quart jugs. Whereas you'll have some leftover with the gallon jugs.

I'm using Motorcraft 15w40 in my '08 F250 6.4, purchased in 5 qt. jugs @ Wal-Mart for $11.50 each. ( Motorcraft oil filter FL-2016 / $18.44 @ Wal-Mart) Obviously meets all Ford warranty requirements, and changed at 5,000 mile intervals.

Price varies from Walmart to Walmart apparently. The Walmart in Brea, California (Orange County) charges $11.50 (last I remember) yet the Walmart in Rosemead, California (Los Angeles County) charges $10.50. It pays to do your shopping, folks.

I didn't know that Mobil 1 made a turbo diesel oil. Where do you buy it?

How often do you change your oil? I think Ford says you should change it every 7500miles whether you use sythetic or not.

I buy the gal jugs at Wal-Mart, I change it every 5000. For me changing my oil every 5000 miles is cheap insurance for a long lasting engine.

I am using Mobil 1 Delvac 5w40 same as I used in my 6.0. It enables me to run the same oil year around. I had very good oil analysis results on the Mobil oil.

The Delvac 5w40 is suppose to be the same oil sold as Mobil 1 5W40 turbo diesel you get in quarts.
