I havent had a real chance to take my baby on a nice long road trip yet... But I am taking a 450 mile venture this weekend... Just wondering how good she will do on the freeway going about 70mph...I have an SCT with the EXTREME tune loaded up, should I return her to stock before this trip to help my fuel mileage?
SO whats your highway MPG going around 70mph?

If thats true, and he did get 20, that is impressive. The stars probably were aligned to do that, but it could happen.
At 20mpg thats only $.175 per mile, at $3.499. Not too shabby.
If at the realistic figure of 14mpg avg it would be a Quarter per mile.
Im not sure if thats good or bad. I suppose its how you look at it. At those rates, diesel could climb to $3.90 in summer (which it is fairly certain to) and still be around $.28 per mile. I suppose that is kinda getting up there...

That's the truth, crude oil prices are up 60% and the only reason gasoline prices have only gone up %16 is because demand is down due to the winter driving downturn.... Wait till summer hits $4 + per gallon is likely.

Well there are a few things to consider I my case.
I drive like an old man that because I am .75 years.
Two I have allot of respect for machinery .no to the floor starts.
ease into the load. The weather condition were perfect dry roads no wind. And it is nothing to see six to eight staters on this trip. Past the state capital motorcycles ,unmarked cars you name it. heavily patrolled I always run on cruise control .It is easy to exceed the limit and get a ticket's with the cruise control I can pay more attention to the traffic. Like I mentioned I could not get past 17.5 or 18 tell I increased the tires to 80 psi.
This reading was on the meter not filled on return. But I trust
Gauges, Was At one time a pilot and you learn to trust your life on them . The 2001 that I traded would get 20 to 21 mpg. I think after this one Is broke in it will do the same. I hope. Fuel here as of yesterday was $3.70 to $3,85 per Gal.
When I Pull a 36.5 5th wheel I got 9.5 to 10 mpg.
The 2001 did the same half of unladen mpg.
13.5 to 14.5... pitiful... this last tank barely made it 310 miles. I love the truck, but it will be sitting in someone else's driveway next spring if I like Dodge's redesign.
The most important thing is, not very many people drive slow, and accelerate slowly. Thats the part of the enjoyment of an engine, hearing it "do" something. I don't floor it to start off, I call it "spirited acceleration." Its good to hear your engine--if--the engine sounds good!
Ive never seen a fuel economy gauge read dead-on from any brand.
You hit the nail on the head. Ford gave it to us, we use it, and we pay for it. Keeping up with and getting that astonished look from the rice rockets is gratifying, but we do pay the price at the pump. The right foot is the greatest economy device ever invented
