Whistle under the hood..?

Got a f350 with 6500 miles on her. I have been noticing a whistle under the hood on driver side when operating at low speed. More specifically, it seems during acceleration around 20-30mph or when feathering the throttle for speed control. It sounds like wind noise through sheet metal, but it seems to be engine based. It happens pretty frequently now. Any ideas what the culprit is????

I had a whistle in my truck @ 11,000 mi. The dealer thought it was a exhaust leak until they got it in the shop. Turned out it was the turbochargers. They replaced them and whistle went away. It was most pronounced around 2,000 rpm. It got worse and much louder within 1,000 mi. of when i first heard it. The truck also started stumbling when accelerating from a dead stop while towing. I hope yours is an exhaust leak. They did take the cab off, no problems.

It’s low on coolant..... When they replaced mine after I hit a deer the body shop didn't know what it was for (lol) so they gave it back to me empty. Needless to say I took it over to the service dept and they filled it up. Got half way home and it was going nuts..... like a high pitched humming sound. I took it right back and discovered there was an air pocket in the system. They purged the system and all is good now.
