Classic Job 1 regen when cold out or cold engine. My Job 1 hasn't done the smoke screen since I got the latest flash.

Has anyone continued this thread somewhere else?

I have an early Job 1 truck and it never smoked until about 45,000 miles. Then it's billowing white/blue smoke every so often. One time it was twice within 60 miles. I've taken it in and had the latest flash put in AND (supposedly) a new charge air filter put on. It's still doing it and not always when it's cleaning the exhaust filter.

Well, I was satisfied for quite some time after my CAC got replaced via the TSB. I don't know if it was because the season or what, but my problem came back the other day. It was around 70F outside, and 80-100% humidity I was on a trip, and every time I would try to accelerate very hard the same symptoms came back, only not as bad. I only got about 20% of the smoke that I used too, and the truck didn't fall completely on it's a** the way it used to do, but there is definitely still something that's not right with it. It's almost like whatever the CAC design change was, it moved the temp/humidity combo up to higher values before this problem occurs.

Thumbs up It Worked

I just drove my truck for 1 hour in a very heavy rain then jumped on the throttle and she pulled heck with not hesitation or white smoke. I have 7K on my truck now and this is the FIRST time ever i could do this in rainy conditions. I can say for sure this solved the problem for today. Now, will moisture somehow come back in the future as someone else previously posted? Well I don't know but I can say for sure that the CAC is definitly connected to the hesitation and white smoke problem. So for now I'm very happy.

Does anyone have these same intermittant symptoms (WITHOUT the while smoke, but after a long cruise in all weaher conditions falling on its a** after slowing for tolls or someone making a left turn? Does it empty, but much worse with 14k trailer. Yes, the very counter-intuitive backing off the pedal is the ONLY way to get it out of the mess. Have had Ford Dealer's flight recorder in place but it "sees" nothing even during the event. Job 1 450 with 24k miles and most current flash available as of January 2, 2009. Thanks.

I didn't have any smoke for the longest time. Dealer actually told me I must be tailgating in the rain. I only saw the smoke unloaded. Perhaps the trailer spoils the air enough that you can't see the smoke when hitched up. I don't know. I do now that I had the CAC done and my issue is far diminished. I can still feel the slightest stumbling but its so minute compared to what was happening I don't even care. Job 3 350 srw april 08 17k miles, 100% stock.

Exactly what mine has done since day one. I have seen light blue smoke only once. 2008 F250 24,000 miles.

JohnD333 I'm 99% sure its your CAC. The same always happened to me. It didn't always smoke but you stated its happens most when towing. Thats the way it was for me. I couldn't hardly get it to happen without towing something. But when I was towing a trailer it happened all of the time. So when I went in to the dealer to show them I could never get it to happen. You have to stay on your dealer because it took me a long time to get them to replace mine. But finally I did and problem is gone.

^^^+100

Also this won't entirely eliminate the issue but 98% of it will be gone and the truck will be usable and impact its ability to pull.

have any of you guys noticed that it does this when the AC is on?? i have an 09 6.4L 350, and just took a trip down to tennessee from cleveland ohio and back and noticed this issue.

it does not do this issue when it is raining etc... only when the AC is on. when i would stop at a toll booth and do about 75% throttle to accelerate the truck would bog down bad, just as you all describe with very little white smoke although a noticeable amount. So i just got in the habit of turning off the ac and then going and it would be perfectly fine. temps were between 73*-85* and im sure humidity was over 70%.

is my problem less persistant b/c my truck is an 09 and more than likely has the new CAC installed, and my issues are similar to what those who had the new CAC installed on 08 trucks experience?
