Who has been in the shop

I'm curious to see how many truck have been in, compared to not been in.
I'd like to not turn this into a bash fest, so maybe nate, you could keep your mouth shut.
I've included a poll, with either yess or no, and a milage selection. If you want to reply with why it was in, that is cool too.
Mine is in right now, for an oil leak, high pressure oil seal is what i am told.

Re: Who has been in the shop

Mine had to go in to get a leather seat cover replaced but that was a known issue when I bought the truck. On the same visit I did have to get the A/C accumulator changed because ithe A/C was not holding a charge.

Re: Who has been in the shop

I just bought my new F-250 last Wednesday and had to wait until last Friday to pick it up because the A/C evaporator had a leak. Curious if anyone else has had this problem.

Re: Who has been in the shop

Mine went in for a problem with the A/C, it doesn't blow cold on hot days. Since it was only 50 outside and it was making 45 degree air they said it's fine. I have to take it in on a hot day so they can check it . . . IDIOTS, I told them I MEASURED 55 degrees on a 85 degree day. My DPF is busted but I elected to leave that for a future visit.

Re: Who has been in the shop

Hi, I have a 08 F450, the truck has been in the shop nearly more than on the road. I had the first of 4 engine radiators replaced at 37500 KMS (23500 miles), the last one was replaced after the 60000KMS (37500 mile) warranty was up and now ford doesnt want to cover it, it has been an on going problem and they did a change up to the part number even. Then a flexpipe in the exaust started leaking but they covered that. Now the high pressure fuel pump went and wont cover it even though it still under warranty.

Re: Who has been in the shop

Mine's been in for DPF and dragging fan clutch. Also had them check out an indentation in the rear seat that traveled the entire width of the cusion. Replacment is coming, has me a little concerned now. Mind you, they're replacing both the cusion and the skin. Maybe it will come assembled already?

Re: Who has been in the shop

Mine had a defective passenger side mirror that would not telescope when I bought it. Also had a loose right rear exterior door handle that had to be replaced with a stripped stud. Also had to have the console lid replaced, the stitching was loose. All were taken care of without problem, but yep, been back to have it done. SO far it has been just cosmetic, hope it stays that way! Love this truck.

Re: Who has been in the shop

Huh?? Four radiators?? Now Ford says they won't cover the next? Fuel pump failing and Ford will not cover it? Are we missing some information? What is this truck used for, work or pleasure? 37,500miles a lot in short time. I think the drivetrain is covered now for 5 years, 60,000 miles, I would think that would include the fuel pump and radiators.

Re: Who has been in the shop

Yea, sounds like another warranty issue story that we are not hearing the entire story on.

If that were me, you would be seeing me on the evening news being dragged out of the sevice dept kicking and screaming because they didn't want to fix it under warranty.

I think the old saying about the sqeaky wheel applies here.

Mine had small little circle imprints in the back left side seat and center consol. Couldn't figure out what it was caused from. Finally realized it was when it was being delivered from the factory they had placed the center caps for the wheels on the rear sear and folded it together causing the imprints. The sales man swore to me that it would work its way out but the truck had 200 miles on it when I got it. So that means that it had plenty of time from "make-ready" until the time I got it to come out. I had them give me a "we owe" slip to get it fixed if it didn't come out in a month. They actually tried to push it through warranty but got turned down. New car dept. ended up paying for it. It looks fine. No problems with fit at all.

Mine was blowing hot air the day I went to take it on a test drive. They said it was just low on freon but it had to go somewhere. I knew it would be in the shop for that.

I am going on my 3rd radiator. If Ford ever had the balls to tell me they wont cover it they would need the swat team to come get me. I had a very troublesome 6.0 that I traded in on my new F450. 60k is a lot of money to me and I expect to get my moneys worth. Like I said before if this truck turns bad you will see it on the news hanging out of the dealerships showroom window.

Re: Who has been in the shop

thats 37500 KMS not miles, thats about 23500 miles. this truck is a work truck. Iam from canada and the truck was fixed in the US for the fuel pump. seems americans dont like fixing and warrantying canadians vehicles.
