Who here has reflashed the PCM per TSB 07-17-3 ?

(lurked anonymously while on the road, first post at home)

There was a forum topic a while back about TSB 07-17-3, but I haven't seen any further discussion about the subsequent effects from those who have had their trucks reflashed (in particular any increased MPG, shifting quality, idle ramp rate changes in colder weather, etc.) If the new PCM software is really an improvement and there are few side effects then I'll go for it.

Thanks!

Re: Who here has reflashed the PCM per TSB 07-17-3 ?

I'm curious about this also. I have not had the reflash done because of fear of getting worse milage. Getting 16-19 unloaded now and exhuast tips look new.

Thanks

i wouldnt do it. i lost about 2 mpg with the reflash on the highway. dont really see any benefit whatsoever with the flash.

Re: Who here has reflashed the PCM per TSB 07-17-3 ?

Had mine relashed about a month ago..while in the shop for a mirror replacement ( car wash broke it). I had complained about fuel mileage. I don't what TSB this was prompted by. Mileage may have improved about 1 -2 in low speed ,around town, unladen driving. No noticible effect in transmission, power etc..although I won't be able to test towing power til early next summer. While watching the mileage carefully via the " lie -o-meter", I have determined that the regen is what is killing my mileage....In between regens, I think I am getting around 14-15 , driving as above. The regen drives the average down to about 11-12 as soon as it happens.

Re: Who here has reflashed the PCM per TSB 07-17-3 ?

Had mine done when flash first came out, made zero diff. Towed 1k miles with 10k trailer, no diff in milage, and tranny still shifts between 4th and 5th several times a mile, on flat ground with cruise. Now I dont tow with cruise on, what a pain in the foot.

Re: Who here has reflashed the PCM per TSB 07-17-3 ?

yeah it was i got the letter 2 weeks after i bought the truck (in sept). Since the flash i went from 13.5-14mpg to 11.5 and no power at all, boost with cruise control on at 70mph surges between 10-20psi on its own on flat ground. Truck was flashed a week and a half ago was until then, tried to tow a boat yesterday that weighed 4000lbs truck wouldnt pull over 40mph with boost gauge showing 25psi
