*****WOW****

I just picked up my new ride today, traded an 03 7.3. The 7.3 can't even compare. I can't wait to hook on pull with it. I've watched this forum for a while considering the trade...wish I would have done it sooner!!!! I've listened to the talk of the mileage etc...not even a consideration after driving it and now owning it. What an impressive machine, well worth a couple extra bucks in the tank. It reminds me of when Ford changed the expedition in 03...it was completely different than the previous models.

WOW......!!!!!!! Can't believe a truck with nearly 100 more horsepower, 5 years newer does not compare to your 7.3, what news......glad you don't care about mileage either, a "couple of bucks" here and there, shoot nothing for a high stepper. If Ford can't improve on the 7.3 and make a truck with a better ride in 5 years of building they need to find another occupation......glad you are feeling so good. Good Luck with the new ride. BTW my 07 Civic is wayyyyy more of a machine than my 1989 model was. Things are progressing. Good news for all of us laying out 22k on a Civic and nearly 50k on an SD.

not sure how its more?
My 08 gets about 16.5 on the highway
My 96 when it had injectors and a chip(so it made equal power) was getting 15.
Even stock it was only getting 18.
So lets see, 1.5mpg x 30 gallons = approx 45 miles. Or at 16 mpg that = 3 gallons of gas, or about 9 bucks.
UH OH!!!!! better take out a loan for that extra 9 bucks per tank.... good lord.

Re: *****WOW****

im glad to hear some great news and a happy customer, dont let anyone burst your bubble, i remember looking at 04's before ordering the truck in my sig and it was night and day, ive been looking at some 08's lately and its sureal what they have done with it. i think that regardless of the 5 year difference in your two trucks its impressive what they have done, im looking at a 450 and people keep saying "its going to ride ruffer but if you need the capacity its ok" i personally dont think that at all. i drove one the other day with 4.88's and the power is seamless and it rides smother than my 05 that weighs 1000-1500 lbs less. ofcourse stuff progresses over time but for a 7-9k truck to drive as smooth and run as quiet as these do is pushing the laws of physics, be proud of it. congrats

Re: *****WOW****

Judging by your sig, your truck probably looks somewhat like mine! Glad to hear you are happy. I am happy with mine and i dont care what anyone else says. They arent driving it and they cant go down the road with everyone looking at their truck saying "thats a 2008 super duty with the new twin turbo powerstroke"

Re: *****WOW****

Hey Jarhead, let's see some pics of truck and 5er together. Welcome to the 6.4 club.

George C, no tuner yet. I want them to get a better handle on long term effects to DPF and engine. Also, right now I can afford the truck, just not a new engine to go in it if something happened with no warranty. However, the crystal ball see a tuner somewhere in my future.

Jarhead, you will only enjoy your truck more as it settles in. Get up and go will increase along with a little mileage.

Re: *****WOW****

I just got mine yesterday...WOW!!!!...I agree. Days like this make me think back to when I used to run Volkswagon Pickups my Dad ran when I was a kid to this new beauty. Lot's of trucks inbetween with not one of them as good.

I've got 58 miles on it now. I'll be hauling tonight to Boston and South..Can't wait to feel her out.

Much nicer then my 02 Lariet...Rides so much better and love the layout of everything inside and out..

Good luck

I have also thought about trading in my '01 7.3 for the new 6.4. The new 08 is one amazing truck. I love everything about it. Huge improvement in every department from the 07 to 08 model, not to mention all the refinements from my 01 model. I previously looked at getting the 06 or 07 model (before the 08 came out) and there was no way I'd give up my 7.3 for that. I think the only thing better about my truck is the fact that it's paid for.
