the only reason i watched it was to see if it could be heard running. couldnt really make much out, if you notice almost everytime it was running they either had music playing or were talking over it.

When at the 6.4 class last week I wouldn't call the new 6.4 totally quiet but is is quieter than the 7.3s or the 6.0s.
This new engine is a lot different than the 6.0s and if procedures are not followed when repairing it it may never run again correctly if at all. You definitely don't want a monkey under the hood on this beast.
So far the only thing about the 08s I don't like is the grill attached to the hood, being that I am 6,2 I was constantly hitting my head on the dam grill while working on the engine. It looks like the hood can be propped up higher by removing the hood struts. Most of the time it probably won't matter as the cab will be off the frame for many of the repairs to this engine.

Yes it has a similar 6.0 starter type noise but it fires almost instantly. It has a more refined diesel sound not like the 6.0s hollow knock noise but still has a real diesel sound to it. I wish we could drive it but the big guns at Ford will not let any one drive this truck, not even the instructors could. Maybe after the February 1 OK to sell date they will.

Oh dang you guys beat me to the post. I don't like the green but everything else looks good. The front end is getting a lot better. I wish they would have given us an oppertunity to hear it better. From what I did hear, it wasn't too bad. Can't wait.

You are correct, they should be red for a diesel. This episode was probably filmed some time back and the truck is probably a pre production unit with the wrong heat extractors.

Yes it did have the powerstroke side vents and they were black but the powerstroke was orange. It doesnt look that hard to paint the orange black tho. the truck was also 2 tone green and black so the truck may have been repainted???

It did look good, those new bumpers were cool too. Too make those bumpers look good, you need 40 inch tires like on the show. A little too big of a truck for my taste though.
