Yup, I was oh so close....

Dealer called me today and the KR F350 I ordered finally came. And guess what...I can't pick it up or drive it. lol

How ironic. I finally get my truck and this reflash BS surfaces. I hope they have the reflash by tomorrow, I'm taking the truck on a road trip this weekend...rephrase...I'm supposed to be taking the truck on a road trip.

Signed,

[/ QUOTE ]That sucks!! Just tell the dealer you promise not to drive in tall dry grass, or near any people & maybe he will let you take it home.Tell him you swear you will bring it back when the flash is ready. Re: Yup, I was oh so close....

If the dealer allows the truck to be sold or driven it's a $5000 fine to them. I doubt the truck will be going anywhere until the recall is performed.

Re: Yup, I was oh so close....

I would be grateful that Ford stepped up to the plate and stopped sales until the problem is found, measures are taken to correct it. I think that is much better than the last brand of truck I had that had two known defects and yet was sold to me without my knowledge. Maybe your salesman will let you sit in it and read the owners manual, kind of like get aquainted with you new ride. Maybe they will even tow it around back and let you wash and wax it ! I do hope the problem is corrected, because my truck is getting close to starting it's way down the production line.

Same boat! Mine is in storage also. Do they have a fix (reflash) or are they still working on it?

Ah, yes. I recall the salesman that sold me my Ford 6.0 also told me Ford had stepped up to the plate and had all the bugs worked out

I suggest the reason for the stop sale has something other to do than making sure the problem is found. They reportedly already have the fix; the program just isn't fully distributed yet..

Re: Yup, I was oh so close....

Well, I at least got to go look at the truck. It's pretty...but I didn't even get to start it. lol

On another note, they said that Ford has sent the new program and they were going to flash it this evening. I'll get to pick it up tomorrow morning.

Also, they sent the truck with the cheap running boards, not the tubular chrome ones I was expecting. Does anyone know if the aftermarket tubular bars for the 07's will fit the 08's? If so, what kind look the best?

I would keep a level head about the postings on the this board and I think you'll love the truck when you get it. I've got 2K on mine and noticed one re-gen cycle. It idled up to about 900RPM and was barely noticable. It's the first vehicle I've had in a long time that has zero issues at delivery. I'll get whatever flashes or cable re-routes done at the first service. It runs so well I'm not keen on anybody touching at this point.

Most of the postings are from board members that don't own a 6.4 or are not in the market to buy one. I think you'll find when you drive the truck many of your concerns fall away. I don't know if it's worth the cost to trade but after living with mine for a little bit I have no desire to go back to a 6.0 or 7.3. Enjoy the truck when you get it.

Re: Yup, I was oh so close....

I got the call from my dealer today that the 08 Super Duty I ordered on 12/30/06 left the assembly line yesterday and is in "Storage" and can not be shipped based on the recall. I gave her hell because that makes little sense to me if they had to make simple changes to the computer. She is suppose to get me more information tomorrow but something just does not sound right. I want my truck!!

For those waiting for their truck to be built expect delays. Between the International motor delay and now this I am going on 12 weeks. This was suppose to be a 6-10 week process according to my salesperson. I will update what ever the hell she meant by "storage" as soon as I leave her office tomorrow.

Re: Yup, I was oh so close....

Not sure why a truck built after 3/09 is storage unless it's waiting for a train ride. Mine was built 3/19, according to the recall it only effected trucks built before 3/09. Hoping to get mine by Easter, maybe a little optimistic though.

Re: Yup, I was oh so close....

Mine was also built on 3-19 ordered on 2-21 and was told in storage, (by other means than my dealer). Called the dealer yesterday and my salesman quit and now I can't get anyone to tell me anything!! I still plan on taking delivery whenever it comes in, my plant makes the fuel tanks for the S.D. if this truck fails im out of work.

Re: Yup, I was oh so close....

It will be worth the wait. My truck was supposed to be traded from another dealer, and when that fell through, I had to wait 2 weeks for a replacement to be found. Then it had a small oil leak (dipstick tube o-ring) that tok 3 more days fix (waiting for parts). At least I got a demo '08 FX4 to drive in the meantime. I put just over 1000 miles on the demo. Noticed one regen while idling, no other issues.
