4 Inch Vs 5 Inch

I wanted to ask if anyone has done a 5 inch DPF delete kit on there 6.4 yet? I have a 4 inch on mine but wanted to know if there would be any noticeable diff. if I was to swap out my 4 inch for a 5 inch?

I read an article about this very thing a few months ago. I think it was in diesel power or diesel world. They stated that the diffrence in 4" to 5" would be negligible unless you were making 500 HP or more. hope this helps.

4" and 5" will perform the same. The only difference will be the deeper/louder sound from the 5".

Everyone use to say its not worth it sense there was not a whole ton of trucks were over 500hp. But now that your average 6.4 with a tuner is over 500hp. How much of a difference would it make? How much louder is it?

I am asking sense I am still not really happy with the sound of my truck. I have 4" now that dumps out just before the right rear tire. Loud enough, but would like to have the full exhaust back on with it just as loud. I still miss the sound of my straight piped 6.0

Does somebody make a 5"DPF/DOC delete pipe? Or do you mean 5" dpf back set up? I ask because I just got a MBRP 5" DPF back system from XDP and I would like to do a full 5" system rather than the 3.5"downpipe back to 5". I know they don't make a 5" down pipe but i'll be getting the 4" flo pro downpipe.

It will be easier just to go with a down pipe back 5" kit rather than trying to piece together a 5" system due to some of the flanges not being 5", but reducing to 3.5" or 4". Pair that with a Flo-Pro or AFE down pipe and you will have a full, free flowing exhaust system.
