I talked with a tech rep at Spartan performance programmers and he said they were in the process of testing mainstream named [AFE, Banks, S&B, etc] intakes. He also stated that after dyno testing is complete they plan on posting final results on their website. It's going to be very interesting to see the outcome!

S&B has my vote. They are code free and offer a good flow improvement with excellent filtration.

Not tryin to pick a fight, but there has been a few S&B throw codes. But i will say they have had very minimal code issues, and very clean install and they still get my vote. Just know they arent 100% code free.

No problem man. I, until recently, had not heard of a single code issue with them. It seems that some of the Job 1 trucks are throwing them, but all others are OK.

Ford builds their vehicles in "builds" (batches). Newer builds include the same feature set as the earlier builds (within the same year of course), but also include enhancements that are based on customer feedback. Look at a "build" as a software version (e.g., Windows XP --> Windows Vista, or Mac OS 9 --> Mac OS X).

I have a job 3 with this intake and it has thrown a P2909 code 3 times. The OBDII diagnostic system will clear it after a couple of drives. Seems to happen every 2000km or so and coincides with a regen?
